Jets | Chris Ivory having great camp

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 06:20:30 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory has had the best camp since landing with the Jets in 2013 and is primed for a career year, in the opinion of ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini. Ivory could see an expansion of his role in the passing game as well as QB Ryan Fitzpatrick throws to his checkdown options.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory is a solid RB2, but health is always a concern with him.

Jets | Chris Ivory primed for big year?

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 15:12:40 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory will play a vital role in the Jets' offense this season. Ivory believes his best is yet to come. "People haven't seen my full potential," Ivory said. "People that actually watch the game, they know my talent and what I'm capable of. Me, within myself, I definitely know what I'm capable of. I'm striving for greatness."

Fantasy Tip: Ivory has impressed so far in the preseason. In what looked like a possible committee with a crowded backfield, Ivory has proven himself as the No. 1 running back on the Jets. He's solidly in RB2 territory heading into the 2015 season.

Jets | NY's running back depth is solid

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 16:54:03 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is the team's starting running back, but the Jets' running back depth behind him with RBs Stevan Ridley, Zac Stacy and Bilal Powell is impressive and will give QB Geno Smith a lot of help out of the backfield.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory should see most of the touches in this crowded backfield, and you should consider him an ideal RB3 in fantasy leagues. The Jets are unlikely to keep four running backs on roster, so Stacy and Powell might be fighting to stay on the final roster.

Jets | Chris Ivory impressing, improving

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 16:08:01 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is doing well with his cuts and has shown good vision in training camp, according to head coach Todd Bowles, who said Ivory is as good as advertised. Bowles, however, said that Ivory has decent hands, but needs to work on becoming a better receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory should be the go-to running back for the Jets this year, despite a crowded backfield. If Ivory can improve as a pass-catcher, he may see more opportunities in the passing game as well. While Ivory will lose some touches to his fellow running backs, he should still be drafted as high-end RB3 to low-end RB2.

Jets | Zac Stacy on outside looking in?

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 19:31:43 -0700

New York Jets RB Zac Stacy is competing with RBs Chris Ivory, Stevan Ridley (knee) and Bilal Powell for one of the running back spots on the 53-man roster in training camp and the preseason. According to beat writer Darryl Slater, Stacy is not projected to make the cut, although it could depend on the health of Ridley.

Fantasy Tip: Stacy went from fantasy starter to an afterthought in an awful hurry. If he can't crack the Jets, he could find work elsewhere. However, it appears his days as a serious fantasy option are already behind him.

Jets | Chris Ivory to get goal-line work?

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 17:10:31 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory was impressive in the goal-line period of practice Wednesday, Aug. 5, using a burst of speed to beat members of the secondary.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory led the Jets with six touchdowns in 2014, and he should be considered as the team's No. 1 option in the backfield entering 2015. He's currently being draft as an RB3, but he lacks the upside owners should be seeking.

Jets | Chris Ivory to be more involved in offense?

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 12:22:29 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory was given fewer carries last year to limit the chances of getting injured. The Jets have a new coaching staff this year, however, and Ivory has been used more this offseason, particularly in the passing game.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to imagine Ivory being too much more involved in the passing game as he's not the best pass-catching running back in league. Ivory's specialty is to ground and pound. Plus, the Jets have plenty of other running backs to use as receivers. If Ivory can stay healthy again this season, he should end up in RB2 territory.

Jets | Chris Ivory sees time at WR

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 09:14:11 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory lined up at wide receiver at times this offseason when the team worked out of a spread formation.

Fantasy Tip: The team likely is looking for ways to have Ivory on the field more often, and he could be more involved in the passing game. Ivory is expected to be part of a committee at running back this season and could be a middle-round option if he receives most of the carries.

Jets | Chris Ivory's workload has been limited

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 05:45:32 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory's workload was limited by the former Jets coaching staff because they were worried about him getting injured. Ivory has also struggled in pass blocking.

Fantasy Tip: During the spring, the Jets used Ivory in spread formations a lot. He lined up some as a wide receiver. If this continues, it's great for his PPR value. He'll have to contend with Stevan Ridley, Bilal Powell and Zac Stacy for carries, though. Ivory is a solid RB2 in fantasy.

Jets | Chris Ivory leads backfield

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 07:35:43 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is listed as the starting running back entering training camp, according to beat writer Rich Cimini's unofficial depth chart. RB Bilal Powell is the primary backup, and RB Zac Stacy is listed as the third running back. RB Stevan Ridley (knee) could figure in eventually, but he's expected to be limited at the start of camp.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory established himself in a muddy backfield that was expected to be led by Chris Johnson last year. Ivory has competition again this year, but he's a solid RB2 and takes a hit in PPR formats. Powell is a decent RB4 in PPR formats. It's hard to draft Stacy right now unless Powell and Ridley slip up.
