Minnesota Vikings CBs Asher Allen and Benny Sapp are expected to start in Week 15 against the New Orleans Saints with CB Marcus Sherels playing the nickel. If CB Cedric Griffin is active, he will likely be on the bench. "Our guys are going to try and fight to the very end," head coach Leslie Frazier said. "That's what you like about (Benny) and (Asher) and some of the guys that are going to be playing. They're going to give it all they can."

Minnesota Vikings special teams coordinator Mike Priefer said Friday, Nov. 11, that he prefers to stick with WR Percy Harvin (rib) on kickoff returns when healthy, despite the fact RB Lorenzo Booker and CB Marcus Sherels have shown well at times. Each of the three players have kick returns of at least 68 yards this season.

Minnesota Vikings CBs Asher Allen, Chris Cook, Marcus Sherels and SS Jamarca Sanford will be counted upon in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears to step up if CB Antoine Winfield (neck) is sidelined. The four stepped up their game and received the praise of head coach Leslie Frazier in Week 5 when Winfield was out. "That was extremely encouraging, watching both of those guys compete the way they did," Frazier said. "We feel like we should be in pretty good shape."
