Tennessee Titans WR Marc Mariani (leg) said he hopes to take part in some of the offseason workouts and wants to be a full participant once training camp begins. He will have to compete for a roster spot during training camp as a wide receiver and a returner.

Tennessee Titans WR Marc Mariani (ankle) said Saturday, June 30, that he battled a high ankle sprain for most of last season, and that injury suffered in preseason limited his effectiveness. He is fully recovered, and battling for a receiver job in camp. "I feel kind of rejuvenated," Mariani said. "Instead of wearing down, I'm getting strong and feeling better. A high ankle sprain isn't an easy thing when you have no rest (during the season). It was tough, but it will never be an excuse."

Tennessee Titans WR Marc Mariani is expected to compete for a roster spot during training camp but his improvement at wide receiver during offseason workouts in addition to his return abilities could help his chance to make the final roster. Head coach Mike Munchak said he was impressed with how Mariani performed with the offense during practices. Mariani said he is feeling healthier and stronger this offseason and believes the additional time he has spent with wide receivers coach Dave Ragone has helped his receiving skills.
