Chicago Bears OT J'Marcus Webb said he is fine with moving to right tackle after the team added OT Jermon Bushrod this offseason. "Things happen and you can't control a few things, but it'll be a great move," Webb said. "I can play right tackle ... I can move my hands a little bit, so it should be fun."

Chicago Bears OL J'Marcus Webb was arrested Sunday, Feb. 24, and charged with possession of controlled substance, cannabis and paraphernalia. Webb posted $500 bond and was released. He is due back in court in March.

Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman was not forthcoming during the NFL Scouting Combine Thursday, Feb. 21, when asked about the status of several players, including impending free-agent LB Brian Urlacher and OT J'Marcus Webb. Trestman simply said the evaluation process of the entire team is "ongoing."

Carolina Panthers OT J'Marcus Webb, DE Corey Wootton, FS Major Wright and PK Robbie Gould will receive increased 2013 base salaries because of incentives in their contracts. Gould's salary will go from $2.325 million to $2.425 million while the other three players will go from $630,000 to $1.323 million.

Retired NFL DE Adewale Ogunleye, a former teammate of Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler, was critical of the way Cutler criticized OT J'Marcus Webb during Week 2. "If you are not doing your job, yeah, someone should be allowed to get in your face," Ogunleye said. "But if you live in a glass house, you can't throw any stones. So the way I am looking at the game, no one is yelling at Jay when he is throwing the ball three (four) times to their defenders. And you've got to have some sense of accountability. At the end of the day, you start losing the respect of the offensive line when publicly you're bumping people and yelling at them in their face. I don't think it is the right thing to do."
