Redskins | Logan Paulsen thinks Jimmy Graham is a tight end

Fri, 04 Jul 2014 10:38:23 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Logan Paulsen thinks New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham should be considered a tight end over a wide reciever. "It's difficult because you look at it and you say, 'Oh, he's lined up at receiver," added Paulsen. "But I guarantee you he goes to tight end meetings. He goes with the tight ends during practice. And they might have him do some different stuff during practice, but there's no doubt in my mind that they refer to him as a tight end."

Redskins | Jordan Reed's season over

Thu, 12 Dec 2013 16:04:25 -0800

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) will be held out for the final three regular season games, according to multiple sources. The team reportedly doesn't want to risk further serious injury to Reed with the team eliminated from playoff contention. Reed has yet to practice this week.

Fantasy Tip: Logan Paulsen will be the primary tight end at Kirk Cousins' disposal now. Young quarterbacks typically rely heavily on their tight ends, meaning Paulsen could have intrigue as a sleeper TE in the final couple of weeks.

Tue, 26 Nov 2013 19:21:27 -0800

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said Tuesday, Nov. 26, that he does not discuss discipline concerning a player. However, a report from NBC Washington surfaced that TE Fred Davis missed team meetings during the week leading up to the Week 12 game against the San Francisco 49ers Monday, Nov. 25. Davis played sparingly, on the field for the final drive. He was not targeted once. TE Logan Paulsen was the team's top tight end, with TE Niles Paul playing a hybrid fullback/tight end role with FB Darrel Young (hamstring) inactive.

Redskins | Fred Davis has explanation for drop in PT

Wed, 30 Oct 2013 15:26:21 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis believes he's lost playing time to TE Jordan Reed for financial purposes. Davis has a $500,000 clause in his contract that is tied to the number of games he's active, and he's been listed as inactive three times this year, twice when healthy. Head coach Mike Shanahan denies that is a reason for the team straying from using Davis. TE Logan Paulsen, who is the team's best blocker, is even ahead of Davis on the tight end depth chart. "I like it here. I was drafted here," Davis said. "But at the end of the day, I just want to play. If I can't play here, then I did want to play somewhere else." Shanahan cites Davis' poor work ethic as one of the reasons he's lost playing time.

Fantasy Tip: At this point, chances are extremely remote that Davis works his way back into enough playing time to be considered in fantasy circles. Reed looks like a much more physical and dynamic pass-catching tight end.

Cooley said he does not have an issue with the playing time. "Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to be a part of whatever I can do," Cooley said. "Hopefully, for me, it grows throughout the season. But it's a good bunch of guys to be around and a good locker room, and I'm happy to do whatever I can, and if that's just being here and helping with the little details, then I'm happy to do that." Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said that game matchups would determine whether or not Cooley saw a spike in playing time down the road.
