Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson said RP Christian Garcia (forearm) has been throwing fastballs and changeups off of the mound. Garcia will start throwing curveballs Thursday, May 9. Garcia then would throw batting practice and begin a rehab assignment.

Washington Nationals SP Christian Garcia (forearm, wrist) will remain shut down for another week. He is still experiencing pain in his right forearm and will continue doing ultrasound and heating the forearm. Garcia has not participated in baseball activities since mid-February.

Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson said SP Christian Garcia (forearm, wrist) will be held out of action for the next 10 to 14 days, although he has been feeling better recently. He experienced tightness in his right wrist and forearm while throwing a bullpen session Sunday, Feb. 17. Garcia said it only bothered him whenever he threw fastballs or tried to open his car door but was not an issue while throwing off-speed pitches.

Washington Nationals SP Christian Garcia (wrist, stomach) underwent an MRI exam on his right wrist and forearm Thursday, Feb. 21, and he will stay off a mound for at least a few days. Garcia remains confident that the injury isn't a big deal, and the pain only affects him when he throws a fastball. Doctors have ruled out that Garcia's stomach issue is appendicitis.
