The San Diego Chargers have announced the signing of free agent WR Jeremy McDaniel to a one-year deal. Financial terms were undisclosed. McDaniel was out of the league last year, after spending time in the San Francisco 49ers training camp.

He has a sprained right foot which he described as something close to, but not as serious as, a Lis Franc injury that ended Eagles RB Duce Staley's season last year. Johnson also hurt the index finger on his passing hand. WR Jeremy McDaniel (high ankle sprain) resumed practicing today and he is listed as probable for Sunday.

Also likely to sit are WR Jeremy McDaniel who was fitted for a cast to immobilize his high ankle sprain, and DB Tony Driver, who has a dislocated shoulder. Backup Avion Black will most likely take over McDaniel's spot. DE Phil Hansen's (dislocated right elbow) will also be out several weeks but his replacement Bryce Fisher is nursing a broken thumb. OT Kris Farris who broke his leg, had season-ending surgery last night in which doctors inserted a rod to stablize the limb. Jon Carman replaced Farris. DE Phil Hansen and DT Leif Larsen (dislocated elbows), WR Jeremy McDaniel (high-ankle sprain), S Tony Driver (dislocated shoulder) and QB Rob Johnson (aggravation of a hip injury). Johnson said there might be some nerve damage to his hip.

He stated earlier in the week he would play but is listed as questionable and as reported earlier, he hopes to practice Friday. The Associated Press reports the Buffalo Bills defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 20-10 earlier tonight. Bengals QB Scott Mitchell was sacked for a safety and threw two interceptions to setup Bills scores. Mitchell completed 8 of 19 passes for 97 yards in the first half. Bengals RB Brandon Bennett had a 76-yard run for a TD for the team's only TD. The Bills running game struggled. RB Sammy Morris started had a couple of nice runs on his way to a 10-carry, 52-yard game. Rookie RB Travis Henry ran seven times for 35 yards. RB Shawn Bryson, bothered by an ankle sprain, lost four yards on two carries. QB Rob Johnson played the first half and the first series of the second half, completing 8 of 19 for 81 yards. He added a 13-yard TD pass to WR Jeremy McDaniel. Bengals RB Corey Dillon got his first carries of the pre-season and he had 34 yards on seven first-quarter carries.

Peerless Price is the favorite to win the job. Donahue said Price’s work ethic has improved this year but he has to develop the consistency as a playmaker to take the next step. According to their official website, Buffalo Bills WRs coach Fred Graves feels WR Peerless Price will become more comfortable and continue to improve now that he's in a West Coast offensive system. Graves stated he's watched a lot of game tape on Price and feels he was making an improvement every week last year. According to Graves, WR Jeremy McDaniel is going to be "a force to be reckoned with."
