The Cincinnati Reds cut Cs Yasmani Grandal and Chris Devone, Ps Daryl Thompson, Phil Valiquette, Donnie Joseph, Jeremy Horst, Matt Klinker and Justin Lehr and OF Danny Dorn from camp and reassigned them to the minor leagues Monday, March 14, reports John Schlegel of MLB.com.

Cincinnati Reds OF Yonder Alonso has made progress in his outfield defense this spring, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay. Alonso will have to compete with OFs Jonny Gomes, Chris Heisey, Fred Lewis and Danny Dorn for time in left field.

The Cincinnati Reds promoted OF Yonder Alonso from Class AA to Triple-A Louisville Thursday, May 13, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay. Alonso is taking the spot of OF Danny Dorn (hand), who will miss at least a month with a fractured hand. Alonso will see the majority of playing time in left field.
