Twins | Miguel Sano at 3B again

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 14:50:16 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B/OF Miguel Sano is starting at third base for the second straight day against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin Wednesday, April 27. That allows OF Oswaldo Arcia to start in right field. He's hitting sixth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: With Trevor Plouffe on the DL, Sano could accumulate enough starts at the hot corner to become eligible at third base, in addition to the outfield. That's significant, and it would give Sano owners more flexibility with their lineups. The second year slugger has 30-homer power but swings and misses often and won't do your batting average any favors.

Twins | Eduardo Nunez out Tuesday

Tue, 26 Apr 2016 14:09:59 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B Eduardo Nunez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 26, against the Cleveland Indians. OF Miguel Sano is playing third base and batting fourth against Indians SP Cody Anderson.

Fantasy Tip: Nunez is a player with borderline fantasy value, even though he has hit leadoff. Sano carries plenty of value in the fourth spot (.323-3-6 in the last week) so put him in your lineup and reap the benefits.

Twins | Eduardo Nunez, Byron Buxton playing

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 08:36:26 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B Eduardo Nunez and OF Byron Buxton are back in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Sunday, April 24, batting first and eight, respectively. 3B/OF Miguel Sano will move back to right field after playing the hot corner Saturday and OF Oswaldo Arcia will get the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Nunez is batting .405 with seven RBI through his first 37 at-bats this year, including a .455 mark versus right-handed pitching, making him a solid value play in daily fantasy games. On the other hand, Buxton is just 6-for-40 at the plate and should be avoided today.

Twins | Eduardo Nunez out of the lineup

Sat, 23 Apr 2016 08:39:25 -0700

Minnesota Twins SS Eduardo Nunez is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Tanner Roark Saturday, April 23. OF Miguel Sano will start at third base, while OF Oswaldo Arcia will start in right field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Arcia is batting .400 with two home runs and five RBI over the last seven days and should be an attractive starting candidate in daily fantasy leagues.

Twins | Miguel Sano heating up

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 10:06:30 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Miguel Sano has registered a .360/.484/.680 slash line with two home runs in 31 plate appearances in the last seven games. Previously, he owned a .143/.294/.143 line with no homers in 34 plate appearances in the team's first nine games. Additionally, his walk rate is up from 15% to 18%, while there's been a more significant change with his strikeout rate, which is down from 36% to 31%.

Fantasy Tip: It was only a matter of time before Sano got going. The 22-year-old showed monstrous potential last year as a rookie when he posted 18 home runs and 52 RBI in 279 at-bats over 80 ballgames. He's still one of the most promising youngsters in the game at the plate and hopefully he can keep up his current run. Odds are he will and should be started with confidence in all leagues.

Twins | Miguel Sano launches second home run

Thu, 21 Apr 2016 15:12:38 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Miguel Sano went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, two RBI and three walks during the Twins' 8-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Thursday, April 21.

Fantasy Tip: After a slow start, Sano is 10-for-29 over his past eight games with five runs, two home runs and four RBI. He boasts elite power and should remain a fixture in your starting lineups through slumps because of his immense upside. Don't hesitate to cash in on a buy-low opportunity, either.

Twins | Miguel Sano not option for 3B

Thu, 21 Apr 2016 11:39:53 -0700

Minnesota Twins manager Paul Molitor is hesitant to use OF Miguel Sano at third base with 3B Trevor Plouffe (intercostal) on the disabled list. The Twins don't want to move Sano to third on a short-term basis with the young player working extensively as an outfielder this spring. SS Eduardo Nunez has been at third with Plouffe out, and 3B Jorge Polanco started at third Thursday, April 21. Sano played only nine games at third base last year.

Fantasy Tip: Nothing here really affects Sano's fantasy value. The converted outfielder has struggled some on defense and offense in the early going, although he slugged his first home run Monday. A lot of strikeouts come with Sano's elite power. Stay patient.

Twins | Patience key for Miguel Sano

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 20:45:46 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Miguel Sano's home run drought has reached a career-long 12 games, and manager Paul Molitor said he is reminding Sano to extend pitch counts to increase his chances of seeing a pitch he can drive.

Fantasy Tip: Sano is piling up strikeouts amid a horrible start, but donít even think about giving up on the young slugger. At the same time, it doesnít hurt to try to pry him away from a panicking owner at a discounted price.
