Twins | Miguel Sano goes deep again

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 23:49:47 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B-OF Miguel Sano went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, walk and two runs scored Saturday, July 23, against the Boston Red Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Sano has back-to-back three-hit games, as something about Boston pitching and Fenway Park certainly agrees with him. He is a must-start for the series finale Sunday in DFS play.

Twins | Minnesota resting three players

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 09:51:24 -0700

Minnesota Twins 1B Joe Mauer, 3B Miguel Sano and CB Byron Buxton are not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin Sunday, July 17. SS Eduardo Nunez will start at third base, while OF Robbie Grossman will serve as the designated hitter. 1B Kennys Vargas will start at first base and is batting third. OF Eddie Rosario will start in left field and is batting sixth, while OF Danny Santana will start in center field and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Vargas is hitting .400 with three home runs and four RBI since being recalled from the minor leagues and should be a decent option in daily fantasy leagues. Rosario has 12 hits in his last five games and should be used in starting lineups. Santana has at least one hit in five of his last seven games, but owners probably will be able to find better options.

Minnesota Twins 3B Miguel Sano went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in a 6-5 loss to the Texas Rangers Friday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: Sano has three homers, eight RBI and seven runs scored in eight games since returning from the disabled list. He is starting to find his groove after a slow start and should be starting in all formats.

Twins | Miguel Sano to DH, play 3B

Fri, 01 Jul 2016 14:16:10 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B Miguel Sano will mainly see time at designated hitter and third base upon his return, according to manager Paul Molitor. He will play the outfield only in an emergency.

Fantasy Tip: Trevor Plouffe is serving as the DH tonight. It's good news for Max Kepler, who has been playing right field regularly lately. He has appeal in AL-only and dynasty formats. With Sano back from the DL, he should immediately be returned to all fantasy lineups because of his 30-homer potential.

Twins | Miguel Sano off DL

Fri, 01 Jul 2016 09:34:52 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Miguel Sano (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Friday, July 1, and 1B Byung Ho Park was optioned to Class AAA Rochester in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Sano has big-time power and could easily reach the 30-homer mark in the second half. However, he whiffs often and won't help your team's average at all. Get him back into all starting lineups. If he was dropped anywhere, grab him immediately. Park has similar pop but has struggled of late. You can let go for now in mixed leagues, but you may want to stash him in AL-only formats.

Twins | Miguel Sano nearing end of rehab stint

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 15:02:04 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF/3B Miguel Sano (hamstring) will play third base in one game of the doubleheader for Class AAA Rochester Thursday, June 30, and serve as the designated hitter in the other.

Fantasy Tip: Sano should return to the Twins sooner than later, and the doubleheader Thursday could be the final games of his rehab stint, so stay tuned for updates on that front. With approximately half the season left, look for Sano to approach or exceed 15 home runs and 45 RBI from here out. He should be owned in all formats.

Twins | Expect Miguel Sano back soon

Fri, 24 Jun 2016 14:57:49 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B/OF Miguel Sano's (hamstring) rehab assignment will only be three or four days.

Fantasy Tip: Sano has 11 home runs and 27 RBI through 50 games this season, so after hitting 18 home runs following his promotion to the majors July 2 last year, there is still plenty of time for Sano to post solid year-end numbers. He should be owned in all fantasy formats.
