Minnesota Twins 3B Miguel Sano (elbow) has progressed well from his 2014 Tommy John surgery, according to director of minor league operations Brad Steil. "You can see that he's a little bit rusty," Steil said, "but maybe a little farther ahead than maybe you would expect after being out for so long."
Fantasy Tip: Sano projects as a high-end power hitter, however he is expected to spend a significant amount of time in the minors this season. He is a late-round stash candidate in deep mixed and AL-only leagues, but in the majority of formats, Sano is just a name to watch. He is worth adding in all formats if he forces a recall with a huge start in the minors, and it is possible given his potential.

Minnesota Twins 3B Miguel Sano was reassigned to minor league camp on Sunday, March 15.
Fantasy Tip: If you can draft Sano in your league, do it. The odds are he will be up sooner rather than later, perhaps as early as midseason or a little later if his bat tears it up in the minors. Sano is the No. 2 prospect in the organization behind Byron Buxton and is one of the top prospects in all of MLB.

Minnesota Twins 3B Miguel Sano (elbow) returned to game action Wednesday, March 4, against the University of Minnesota. After several months of rehab following Tommy John surgery his elbow is feeling fine. "It's exciting," Sano said. "I feel pretty good. I feel healthy. Nothing has been bothering me. I've been throwing 100 percent every time."
Fantasy Tip: Sano is expected to start the season with Double-A Chattanooga as long as Trevor Plouffe can remain healthy. However, he might get a chance to play in the majors later this season, so he isn't a bad stash option in AL-only yearly formats, in addition to being a must-have in long-term keeper formats.

Minnesota Twins 3B Miguel Sano may be on track for a callup later this season, according to general manager Terry Ryan. Ryan did say later that he wasn't sure if a callup was realistic for 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Sano spent last year out due to elbow surgery, but he will only be 22 years old in May and he remains one of the top MLB prospects and a top Twins prospect. Depending on whether he is healthy and has a good minor league season, he may get that callup. Keep Sano in mind as a flyer at the end of some drafts.
