Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria rakes leading off

Thu, 26 May 2016 16:31:21 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria went 3-for-5 in a rare game in which he was hitting leadoff Thursday, May 26, against the Tampa Bay Rays. He hit his third home run of the season and finished with two runs and two RBI.

Fantasy Tip: Although he's mostly known for his superb defense, Hechavarria is capable of going on decent stretches with the bat. The 27-year-old shortstop could be in the process of one right now, as he's 7-for-17 in his last four ballgames. He's better suited for NL-only leagues, but might have something to offer owners in deep mixed leagues as well on occasion.

Marlins | Two Marlins out against lefties

Thu, 26 May 2016 08:20:52 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour and OF Ichiro Suzuki are out of the lineup Thursday, May 26. SS Adeiny Hechavarria is leading off, and 1B Chris Johnson is hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria hasn't made much of an impact this season, and it might come as a surprise that he's hitting just .160 against lefties. He has upside at leadoff, but he's probably not a great choice against Drew Smyly. It's much of the same for Johnson, who isn't worth consideration in the barebones lineup today.

Marlins | Two Marlins out Wednesday

Wed, 18 May 2016 07:41:31 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado and SS Adeiny Hechavarria are out of the lineup Wednesday, May 18. C J.T. Realmuto is hitting second, 3B Chris Johnson is hitting seventh and SS Miguel Rojas hits eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Realmuto is hitting .358 this month, and he's a daily upper-middle option against Jeremy Hellickson. Johnson and Rojas lack the DFS punch for usage today.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria returns to lineup

Sun, 15 May 2016 09:15:45 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is back in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Joe Ross Sunday, May 15, batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria is batting just .205 with two home runs and 11 RBI through his first 35 games and has collected just six hits in his last 36 at-bats. DFS players should be able to find better options Sunday.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria out Saturday

Sat, 14 May 2016 14:22:50 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is out of the lineup Saturday, May 14, with SS Miguel Rojas hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas is hitting .278, but he doesn't possess enough offensive upside to start against Tanner Roark.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria off to slow start

Fri, 13 May 2016 11:05:20 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is hitting just .223 with two homers and 11 RBI in 103 at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria is hitting into a lot of bad luck after hitting .276 and .281 the last two years. Both of those seasons, his BABIP was over .320, and it's just .226 thus far in 2016. That low BABIP is bound to improve, which means his average should rise eventually. Hechavarria doesn't do a lot in other categories to categorize him as a buy-low, but if you own him and are feeling jittery, this should calm the nerves a bit.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria resting

Fri, 06 May 2016 11:48:45 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 6. SS Miguel Rojas is at the 6 and is batting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Vincent Velasquez.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas has eight hits in 26 at-bats (.308) this year but has a career average of just .237 in 165 major league games. He's a desperation daily selection Friday night.

Marlins | Different middle infield for Miami

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 14:27:52 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is not in the starting lineup Friday, April 29. SS Miguel Rojas is at shortstop and is hitting seventh, while 2B Derek Dietrich is at second base and is hitting sixth with 2B Dee Gordon starting his suspension. The Marlins are facing Milwaukee Brewers SP Zach Davies Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Dietrich and Rojas figure to split time at the keystone with Gordon suspended for the next 80 games. Dietrich has more power and is the more attractive waiver wire target if you're looking to replace Gordon in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues. Both could be decent low-priced daily fliers tonight opposite Davies.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria not playing

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 12:19:14 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria are not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain Sunday, April 24. SS Miguel Rojas will start at shortstop and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas has gone 3-for-10 so far this season and could be an option in NL-only leagues but can be avoided in most mixed leagues.

Marlins | No Adeiny Hechavarria Tuesday

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 11:43:03 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 19. SS Miguel Rojas is starting at the 6 and is batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas hit .282 with a home run and 17 RBI in 142 at-bats for the Fish in 2015, but he should be low on the totem pole of daily players to pick from on shortstop tonight, especially against Strasburg.
