Mariners | Seattle recalls a pair of hitters

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 10:07:08 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Nori Aoki and C Mike Zunino were recalled from Class AAA Tacoma Wednesday, July 20. In a corresponding move, C Jesus Sucre and OF Daniel Robertson were optioned to Tacoma.

Fantasy Tip: Aoki will enter the outfield mix and likely see semi-regular playing time against right-handed arms. He's a low-end fantasy option in deep leagues, though, as he's posted an underwhelming .245/.323/.313 slash line this year. Zunino hit .286 with 17 home runs and 57 RBI over 79 games with Tacoma and could push for the lion's share of start behind the dish before long. He's worth an add in cavernous mixed, two-catcher and AL-only leagues.

Mariners | Several SEA regulars resting Saturday

Sat, 16 Jul 2016 10:59:03 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Seth Smith, C Chris Iannetta and SS Ketel Marte (ankle) are not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Saturday, July 16. OF Daniel Robertson will bat leadoff and play left field, C Jesus Sucre will bat eighth and start behind the plate and INF Shawn O'Malley will bat ninth and play shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson, Sucre and O'Malley should all be considered as nothing more than inexpensive fliers in daily fantasy games with little upside.
