Seattle Mariners C Welington Castillo will be activated to the 40-man roster Wednesday, May 20. Mariners C Jesus Sucre was optioned to Class AAA Tacoma.
Fantasy Tip: It is unclear if Castillo ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will start Wednesday on the road against the Baltimore Orioles. Fantasy owners should let him settle into his new home before tossing him into lineups, yet there is mild appeal given his basement price point.

Seattle Mariners C Mike Zunino is not in the starting lineup Saturday, May 16, against the Boston Red Sox. C Jesus Sucre will get the start against SP Rick Porcello.
Fantasy Tip: Sucre ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has just one hit on the season and should not be considered on FantasyScore.

Seattle Mariners C Mike Zunino is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 1. C Jesus Sucre is catching and hitting ninth in the batting order against Houston Astros SP Samuel Deduno.
Fantasy Tip: Zunino is taking a day off while starting .129 (8-for-62) on the season. It'd be wise to bench Zunino or look for a catching replacement for him while he's struggling in standard leagues. Sucre ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitless in just seven at-bats this year and makes for a weak FantasyScore catcher tonight.

Seattle Mariners C Jesus Sucre is in the starting lineup against the Texas Rangers Sunday, April 19.
Fantasy Tip: The light-hitting Mike Zunino ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is receiving his first day off this season. Sucre ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is the least expensive catching option available on FantasyScore and is attractive to owners who would prefer to sink their cap money into other positions.

Seattle Mariners C Jesus Sucre is the favorite to take the backup catcher role behind C Mike Zunino, according to manager Lloyd McClendon.
Fantasy Tip: Sucre could be worth a flyer very late in some fantasy leagues if he wins the second catcher job, but keep an eye on how much playing time he gets.

Seattle Mariners C Jesus Sucre will likely start two games a week going forward, according to manager Lloyd McClendon.
Fantasy Tip: Sucre doesn't offer much fantasy value, but the announcement does mean that Mike Zunino will lose some playing time. However, the extra rest could end up helping Zunino, who has hit 13 home runs but has seen his average fall to .208 as of Friday, July 11.

The Seattle Mariners have placed C Jesus Sucre (hand) on the 15-day disabled list because of a left hand injury. In a corresponding move, INF Carlos Triunfel has been recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.
Wed, 05 Jun 2013 11:30:13 -0700
Seattle Mariners C Brandon Bantz has been recalled from Triple-A Tacoma. C Jesus Sucre (hand) has his hand in a soft cast; he's expected to miss a few days. To make room for Bantz, the Mariners optioned INF Carlos Triunfel to Tacoma and transferred OF Franklin Gutierrez to the 60-day disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: The M's were highly unlikely to summon Mike Zunino for such a trivial need. Bantz isn't worth a look in deep AL leagues unless Sucre's injury is more serious, and even then, it's not especially likely. Guti is already a month and a half into his DL stint, and his rehab assignment time has expired, but he isn't ready to return, so perhaps the M's found a way around that issue.
