Sun, 16 Jun 2013 18:08:22 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) has resumed catching bullpen sessions, and he is expected to play in minor-league rehab games before the end of the month. He recently suffered a setback, and manager Davey Johnson said it was likely due to a breaking up of scar tissue.
Fri, 14 Jun 2013 17:58:30 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) was shut down during his rehab after a recent setback, but general manager Mike Rizzo said Friday, June 14, that Ramos will rest "several days," not weeks as manager Davey Johnson previously suggested. "According to our doctors, there isn't any larger concern that it's a chronic type of injury," Rizzo said.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 16:25:47 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) suffered another setback in his recovery from a strained right hamstring. He pulled up while doing drills that involved running from first to third. It's unlikely that he'll be back before the All-Star break. Fantasy Tip: Bummer. He shouldn't be on mixed leaguers' radar any time soon. Kurt Suzuki will continue to get most of the at-bats at catcher and be a deep mixed option.
Tue, 28 May 2013 12:41:35 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) will need to sit out an additional four weeks. Fantasy Tip: Ramos just hasn't been able to stay healthy the last few seasons, and he's also been a slow healer. The prolonged absence boosts Kurt Suzuki's value in deep mixed leagues.
Fri, 24 May 2013 15:23:39 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) continues to receive treatment and work out, but he's likely to need a few extra days past when he's eligible to return from the 15-day disabled list. Fantasy Tip: Ramos' new hamstring injury is more serious than the one he dealt with earlier this year, so expect the Nats to give him as much time as necessary to return at 100 percent. They don't have to rush him back with Kurt Suzuki able to handle the full-time duties in his absence, either. Suzuki is the kind of player that needs consistent playing time to maximize his potential.
Sat, 18 May 2013 19:07:34 -0700 Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Saturday, May 18, that the team will be very cautious with C Wilson Ramos (hamstring). Johnson said the left hamstring strain for Ramos is worse than the catcher's first strain. Fantasy Tip: If Ramos is unable to return Sunday, he should be kept out of the starting fantasy lineup heading into the new week. Kurt Suzuki will be the beneficiary of the majority of the starts as long as Ramos is on the shelf.
Thu, 16 May 2013 06:26:17 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) is likely to be out for a while after straining his hamstring. Manager Davey Johnson said the plan is to call up C Jhonatan Solano to replace Ramos. Fantasy Tip: Kurt Suzuki figures to see more playing time. He hasn't been awful, but he doesn't have much power and he'll have to do better than a .247 batting average to contribute. He's an NL-only option.
Wed, 15 May 2013 20:51:50 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos (lower body) left the game Wednesday, May 15, against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to an apparent lower body injury. He ran very gingerly out of the batter's box on a single to left field in the top of the fourth inning and was almost immediately removed from the game.
Sun, 05 May 2013 10:11:59 -0700 Washington Nationals OF Denard Span (foot) is in the starting lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday, May 5. C Wilson Ramos is catching back-to-back games for the first time this season.
Mon, 29 Apr 2013 15:08:47 -0700 Washington Nationals C Wilson Ramos is expected to start Tuesday, April 30, after returning from the disabled list Monday, April 29. Manager Davey Johnson will resume alternating Ramos and C Kurt Suzuki behind the plate in the immediate future. "I'll probably alternate a little bit early," Johnson said. "But I was never going to be tied into that full-time. I play the hot hand, I look at matchups." Ramos said he's 100 percent healthy.
