The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took a different approach in their Week 6 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, going with a pass-first approach. "When they're throwing eight (defenders) in the box because they think their corners can cover, we have to make big plays so they can start taking people out the box and we can run the ball," WR Mike Williams said. "That's basically what they did yesterday. They put eight in the box and put pressure on their corners. Then, in the second half, they went back to back to the two-high (safeties) and the running game opened. We like that, too." The addition of WR Vincent Jackson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense immediately gives the team the No. 1 wide receiver the team and fans were looking for. Jackson, at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, is a big target with surprising speed and an ability to get open downfield. The team said in January they would spend whatever it takes to win in the future, and they did just that as soon as the free-agent market opened. Buccaneers wide receivers struggled to get open last year, leading to a poor season by QB Josh Freeman. With Jackson, 29, in town, the hope is he will draw the attention of opposing defenses and open things up for WRs Mike Williams and Arrelious Benn, who become the second and third receivers, respectively. The Buccaneers have also made it clear they are building the team around Freeman, and considering they are looking at high-profile offensive linemen they may not be done spending money yet.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman, who leads all quarterbacks with 10 interceptions, appears to be forcing the ball to TE Kellen Winslow and WR Mike Williams. Winslow is often Freeman's first read on passing plays, and Freeman clearly isn't going through his progressions, instead forcing the ball into tight coverage. "Last year, (Freeman) simply did a better job of going through his progressions," head coach Raheem Morris said. "Right now, he probably is playing his number in fantasy football. He's trying to throw touchdowns."
