Seattle Seahawks CB Walter Thurmond (ankle) will have ankle surgery. "He's got a pretty torn up ankle, with a high-ankle sprain that's serious and also a fracture," head coach Pete Carroll said. "And so we're going to lose him for the rest of the season unfortunately." Thurmond has a four-to-six month recovery from the surgery.

Seattle Seahawks CB Walter Thurmond (leg, ankle) was placed on the Injured Reserve Monday, Oct. 24, with a broken fibula and high ankle sprain. Thurmond will need surgery to fix his broken leg. In a corresponding move, the team claimed SS Ron Parker off waivers. RB Richard Sherman will replace Thurmond in the starting lineup.
