Jaguars | Clay Harbor likely to be No. 2

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 19:43:12 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Clay Harbor (calf) missed most of organized team activities (OTAs) due to a calf injury. He is projected to be the front-runner to serve as backup to TE Julius Thomas.

Fantasy Tip: Harbor could re-emerge as a viable fantasy option, but he will need an injury to Thomas to see significant reps.

Jaguars | Clay Harbor expects to be at TC

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 18:14:26 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Clay Harbor (calf) said Thursday, June 18, he expects to be ready for the opening of training camp July 31. Harbor said he could probably play if there was a game this coming Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Harbor is the second 'move' tight end in the Jaguars' offense, behind Julius Thomas. Harbor won't be an option for fantasy drafts, but he could be a nice FantasyScore play, if Thomas misses any time due to injury this season.

Jaguars | Jags' tight ends to be used often

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 05:57:14 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TEs Marcedes Lewis and Clay Harbor will still have roles in the team's 2015 offense with plenty of two- and three-tight end sets to be used. "This system is very exciting," Harbor said. "It uses the tight ends a lot and it gives our [meeting] room more opportunities to make plays," said Harbor. TE Julius Thomas will be used as a "move" tight end, with Lewis acting in a more traditional role and remaining on the line. Harbor will also be used as a "move" tight end, according to offensive coordinator Greg Olson.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is the only tight end worth drafting out of Jacksonville but Lewis and Harbor could both emerge as occasional FantasyScore options if QB Blake Bortles is able to utilize them near the goal line, or if Thomas misses any time due to injury.

Jaguars | Clay Harbor demoted

Tue, 25 Nov 2014 10:23:27 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Clay Harbor has been demoted to third-string after the return of TE Marcedes Lewis. TE Nic Jacobs has kept the No. 2 job, as Harbor played just six snaps in Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Harbor can officially be ignored for now at FantasyScore with his demotion. Lewis ($3,400) is more of a blocking tight end than a pass-catcher, though, so he's not a very wise option, even in Week 13 against the New York Giants.

Jaguars | Marcedes Lewis to return soon

Thu, 13 Nov 2014 14:26:37 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis (ankle), who has been out since suffering a high left ankle sprain Sept. 14, is expected to be activated from the short-term Reserve/Injured list as soon as Monday, Nov. 17, when the team returns from the bye week. TE Clay Harbor has caught 25 passes for 272 yards in Lewis' absence. Head coach Gus Bradley expects the team's blocking to improve when Lewis returns.

Fantasy Tip: Lewis isn't much of a fantasy football contributor, as the Jaguars like to use him as a blocker frequently. However, his return will likely spell the end of Harbor's fantasy value in deeper leagues.
