Mon, 17 Jun 2013 10:14:43 -0700 The Denver Post's Mike Klis estimates that the Denver Broncos' passing offense would reach its peak if Demaryius Thomas gets 85 receptions and Eric Decker and Wes Welker each net around 75. Klis contends that the strength of this passing attack must continue to stem from outside receivers. Fantasy Tip: This is merely one writer's rough guess of how things should work, but it definitely reminds us of Welker's shaky fantasy value. Manning will challenge downfield much more often than Tom Brady did, and Thomas and Decker are hardly any slouches. Welker's biggest impact this year will be how he opens things up for the rest of the offense, not the padding of his own stat sheet. He may be sorely overvalued in PPR setups this year.

"If I have to catch 112 balls, that probably means we're in trouble," Welker said. During organized team activities Monday, May 20, QB Peyton Manning showed excellent chemistry with Thomas and Decker, but he also involved Welker some. Welker is on board with having a smaller workload, but Manning knows the benefit of adding Welker to the offense. "He's just been an extremely difficult guy to cover one-on-one, and then you can tell by watching him on film - he's an extremely smart player," Manning said. "He has an excellent feel for zone coverage. This is just the beginning stages of him getting comfortable in this offense, and he and I getting on the same page." Fantasy Tip: Wide receiver targets in Denver this year will be tough to predict, especially at this juncture. They figure to air it out plenty, and all three wideouts will be valuable for fantasy purposes, but it might be a week-to-week difference on which receiver busts out based on matchups.

King may see some playing time for this reason as another option for QB Peyton Manning. "As a receiver I'm a guy that gets deep in a hurry, (I) led the FBS in yards per catch last year with 22. (I'm) somebody that you guys are going to be able to depend on, somebody who will do exactly as Peyton says," King said. "Peyton's going to put me in a position to succeed." Fantasy Tip: The Broncos may have one of the most prolific offenses and aerial attacks in 2013 if Manning can stay healthy. They will be very dynamic, that's for sure, and King could add another dimension. However, with so many mouths to feed in the passing game, it's highly unlikely King sees enough field time to be fantasy-worthy.
