Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning has been impressed with WR Eric Decker during offseason workouts and called him the "veteran" of the receiving core. Manning and the coaching staff are coming up with ways to move Decker around in order to use him in multiple ways this year.

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (pinkie) had surgery on his left pinkie last month to remove a pin that was put in there when he shattered his finger last September. Thomas has not been working out with QB Peyton Manning like WR Eric Decker has this offseason.

Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker said there is no question QB Peyton Manning's (neck) arm strength is good enough to start in the NFL. Decker added he hasn't seen anything in workouts that would lead him to believe Manning's arm strength has decreased due to four procedures on his neck. "The guy's still throwing the ball a long time, throwing it great, hitting you in the right spot," Decker said. "He's such a perfectionist. If he hits you in the belly button, he gets mad at himself for not hitting you in the chest. It's unbelievable to be around a guy who has those standards for himself."

Denver Broncos WR Peyton Manning called his offseason throwing regimen with WR Eric Decker both "rewarding" and "critical," adding that the workouts are helping him back into the groove. Manning said his work with Decker is not only helping the new teammates establish a connection but will mean wins when the season starts. "You don't feel it necessarily right now, but you know that it's going to pay dividends for you in the fall..." Manning said. "And you say, you know, 'We worked on that back in April and May, and that time we put in was worth it because it came on a critical third-down conversion or a touchdown pass.'"

Decker has also been overly impressed with Manning's work ethic early on.

Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker (knee) said it was "tough" missing the Divisional Round playoff game against the New England Patriots. "I'm taking it day-by-day. Obviously, from last week to this week I'm feeling a lot better," Decker said. "Now with some time off, just got to take it slowly and make sure you get it healed correctly." Decker is expected to be ready for training camp, barring any setbacks.
