Jets | Eric Decker going full speed

Tue, 23 May 2017 08:23:03 -0700

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) is participating in passing drills full speed Tuesday, May 23.

Fantasy Tip: Decker could be a forgotten man on draft day, but the 30-year-old could still have some magic left in the tank. Monitor his progress through camp and look for him as a WR4 or a WR5.

Jets | Quincy Enunwa may emerge as Jets' top option

Wed, 10 May 2017 20:23:36 -0700

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa believes he's going to have "an opportunity to do a lot more than he was able to do last year", and SNY's Ralph Vacchiano suggests the 24-year-old may be the team's top receiving option if WR Eric Decker can't make it all the way back from hip and shoulder surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Decker fully expects to be back by training camp, so this figures to be a non-story so long as the Jets don't designate make him a post-June cut, which seems unlikely at this point. Enunwa led the team with 857 receiving yards in 2016, and a repeat of that production at the very least seems possible whether Decker is playing or not. The third-year Nebraska product should be considered a WR5 in most fantasy leagues.

Jets | Eric Decker release looking less likely

Sun, 07 May 2017 10:37:39 -0700

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) is still a candidate to be a post-June 1 cut, but ESPN's Rich Cimini would be "surprised" if the team ends up cutting him.

Fantasy Tip: Decker is due to make $7.25 million in 2017, so releasing him when he could stick around to take a significant amount of pressure off players like Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa, ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen would seem to hurt more the Jets' rebuilding project more than it would help. If he remains a Jet, Decker will likely be a hit-or-miss WR3 in fantasy.

Jets | Eric Decker expects to be ready for camp

Wed, 03 May 2017 09:05:05 -0700

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) has been a full participant in the team's offseason conditioning program and will be ready to practice at the start of training camp in July. "My health is good. I'm back and I'm doing everything right now. There are no (structural) issues. I'm just getting my strength back. But as far as everything else, I'm a full go," Decker said.

Fantasy Tip: Without Brandon Marshall around this year, Decker will go back to being the team's top wideout, assuming the Jets don't cut or trade him before Week 1 as had been rumored at the start of the offseason. His current quarterback situation isn't going to do him any favors, however, so he should be considered a middling WR3 at best in fantasy for now.

Jets | Eric Decker could still go

Fri, 07 Apr 2017 07:58:34 -0700

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Eric Decker (shoulder, hip) still has a large possibility of being with another team next season, in the opinion of beat writer Manish Mehta.

Fantasy Tip: Decker is now 30 years old, and he's coming off injuries to his shoulder and hip, and he had a knee injury late in 2015. He's still a reliable target, but his upside is fizzling. He's a WR4 for now.

Jets | Eric Decker likely to survive roster purge?

Sat, 18 Mar 2017 17:36:53 -0700

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) is expected to get a chance to complete his rehab from hip and shoulder surgeries before the Jets decide whether to keep or release him, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Fantasy Tip: With all the lives they've made this offseason, the Jets are not hurting for salary cap room. New York may be doing himself a favor by keeping Decker, if only to make it a bit easier for whatever quarterback it decides to settle on in 2017. Given the current state of the Jets, Decker will be hard-pressed to maintain WR3 value this season.

Jets | Eric Decker able to do some running

Fri, 03 Mar 2017 15:06:42 -0800

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) is able to run straight ahead and should be able to participate in the non-contact organized team activities this offseason, according to general manager Mike Maccagnan. Maccagnan said he believes Decker will be ready for the start of the 2017 season.

Fantasy Tip: Decker underwent two surgeries during the regular season and could be on the roster bubble once he recovers from the surgeries because of his salary. Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation during the offseason to see if he suffers any setbacks. Decker can be a No. 2 receiver when he is healthy but probably would be a better option as a No. 3 receiver.

Jets | Eric Decker on the chopping block

Thu, 02 Mar 2017 21:05:22 -0800

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) could be cut this offseason whenever he passes his physical, according to beat writer Manish Mehta.

Fantasy Tip: Brandon Marshall has already been released. If Decker also leaves, Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson could both be fantasy starters in 2017.

Jets | Eric Decker likely to miss camp

Thu, 02 Mar 2017 20:17:22 -0800

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) has a "good chance" of missing training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Decker has WR2 potential when healthy, but you may want to prepare for a slow start to the season as he works his way back from multiple injuries.
