Packers | James Starks could return to Packers

Tue, 07 Feb 2017 14:33:51 -0800

Free-agent RB James Starks (Packers) was due $3 million next season, but the Green Bay Packers could re-sign Starks at a lower price, in the opinion of ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: The move isn't out of the question, especially since Eddie Lacy will hit the free-agent market this offseason. The Packers could be thin at running back either way, and it's difficult to gauge any fantasy value with Starks gone and Lacy hitting free agency. Ty Montgomery may definitely play a role in Green Bay's backfield again. He's a mid-round option as a running back or receiver for 2017 fantasy drafts.

Packers | James Starks released

Tue, 07 Feb 2017 13:47:39 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (concussion) was released with a non-football injury designation Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Starks missed the last six games last season because of a concussion he suffered in a car crash. It's hard to believe he's done with football, but he may not have the same pep in his step as he did the previous two years.

Packers | Another missed practice for James Starks

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 16:44:12 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (concussion) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 19.

Fantasy Tip: This doesn't bode well at all for Starks' status this weekend. It's once again looking very likely that the veteran running back will remain on the sidelines come Sunday, as he's already missed the last five games due to a concussion he sustained in a car accident. In his absence, expect Ty Montgomery to continue pacing the backfield.

Packers | James Starks ruled out once again

Fri, 13 Jan 2017 12:51:31 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (concussion) has been ruled out for the team's Divisional Round postseason contest Sunday, Jan. 15, against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately, Starks still hasn't recovered from the concussion that he sustained in a car accident about a month ago. With the veteran still on the sidelines, Ty Montgomery has seized control of the Green Bay backfield and will be worth a look in all fantasy formats this weekend.
