Miami Marlins SS Derek Dietrich is not in the Double-A Jacksonville Suns' lineup on Wednesday, May 8. MLB.com's Joe Frisaro speculates that the 23-year-old could be on his way to join the parent club because of it.

Fantasy Tip: The Fish acquired Dietrich in a trade for Yunel Escobar. INF Chris Valaika (wrist) may be headed to the disabled list, and 2B Donovan Solano (intercostal) is already there. The left-handed hitter has posted a .282/.408/.505 slash line in 28 games this season. He has a little power and speed and would be an interesting player to pursue in NL-only leagues, even though he's probably quite raw.

The Miami Marlins placed 2B Donovan Solano (intercostal) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left intercostal muscle Tuesday, May 7, and recalled INF Nick Green in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Green will likely see the majority of the starts at second base with Solano disabled, but should only be added off the waiver wire for those desperate for a middle infielder or second baseman in NL-only leagues.

Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen suggested that 3B Donovan Solano could play second base next season. "I don't see why not. He's facing a good pitching staff. He's not facing one guy here and one guy there. He's there every day and handling it very well. Can he play every day in the big leagues? I know he can play half a season in the big leagues. We have to take a look at it. I don't know what ball club we're going to have next year."

Miami Marlins INF Donovan Solano hit two home runs Tuesday, Sept. 25, off Atlanta Braves SP Kris Medlen. Prior to this, Solano had not homered in 251 at-bats.
