He is also appealing a four-game suspension by the NFL for testing positive for Adderall. He hopes the suspension will be reduced or overturned since his prescription has been approved by the league.

Green Bay Packers DL Mike Neal said Tuesday, June 5, that he plans to appeal a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Neal claims his positive test was due to Adderall, which is a drug commonly used to treat attention deficit disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. "It was Adderall," Neal said. "I'm not ashamed to say it. If I would have known, I wouldn't have had this problem. We're going through everything right now to get my prescription finalized with the NFL. I've never took any steroids. I haven't done any HGH. It was an Adderall situation and that's unfortunate." Neal obtained a prescription for Adderall, but not through a team doctor.
