Panthers | Ed Dickson finds end zone

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 15:57:25 -0800

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson posted a four-yard touchdown reception on his only target of the day in Week 14 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Dickson hasn't been much of a fantasy option this season, but he could emerge as a useful option down the stretch if the team elects to rest Greg Olsen, who tweaked his knee in the shutout win. Watch Dickson in the final few weeks, especially if Carolina decides to rest some starters.

Panthers | Ed Dickson finds end zone

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 16:41:31 -0800

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson posted three receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the score, Dickson isn't a great FantasyScore option as long as Greg Olsen remains healthy. He isn't really worth using in standard fantasy leagues, either, unless Olsen is befallen by injury.

The Carolina Panthers are deep at tight end, with starting TE Greg Olsen and reserve TEs Ed Dickson, Brandon D. Williams and Richie Brockel projected to make the final 53-man roster. In fact, if they keep four tight eneds, it would likely mean they keep eight offensive linemen instead of nine.

Ravens | Ed Dickson probable

Wed, 04 Sep 2013 13:36:38 -0700

Baltimore Ravens TE Ed Dickson (thigh) practiced in full Wednesday, Sept. 4, and is probable for Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Dickson is more of a low-end TE1, but his Week 1 matchup with the Denver Broncos may make him worthy of a flex play in deep leagues. The Broncos will be missing pass rusher and cornerback Champ Bailey, freeing up plenty of room for Dickson down the middle.

Ravens | Ed Dickson non-committal about opener

Sun, 11 Aug 2013 20:23:35 -0700

Baltimore Ravens TE Ed Dickson (hamstring) was non-committal when asked if he will be ready for the regular season opener Sept. 5, against the Baltimore Ravens. He is recovering from a partially torn hamstring. "I can't make any predictions, but I'm working hard to do that. It's one of those things where it was really sore and I tried to prevent it by doing other things," Dickson said Sunday, Aug. 11. "The doctor said it went all the way through, so it's not lingering through the season so I can get all the way healthy and make me back to 100 percent."

Fantasy Tip: Just in case Dickson isn't ready, the added depth Sunday by bringing in veteran Dallas Clark. When is healthy, Dickson is likely to be the team's starter based upon his familiarity with the offense. Clark, Visanthe Shiancoe and Matt Furstenburg will provide depth.

Baltimore Ravens TE Visanthe Shiancoe is expected to compete with TEs Billy Bajema, Matt Furstenburg and Alex Silvestro for the backup tight end job to TE Ed Dickson.

Ravens | Dennis Pitta expected to miss season

Sat, 27 Jul 2013 17:11:53 -0700

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (hip) is expected to miss the entire 2013 season because of the dislocated hip he suffered Saturday, July 27.

Fantasy Tip: There is nothing official from the team at this point, but it appears like Pitta will miss most, if not all, of the season. Ed Dickson likely will become the Ravens' starting tight end but he does not have much fantasy value. Owners in deeper leagues that carry two tight ends could consider Dickson in the later rounds of their draft.
