Panthers | Ed Dickson gets first TD of 2017

Mon, 13 Nov 2017 21:22:06 -0800

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson scored his first touchdown of the season, while hauling in three of five targets for 33 yards in the team's Week 10 win Monday, Nov. 13, against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Since Greg Olsen went down with injury, Dickson has emerged into a decent tight end option for deeper formats. In fact, he's garnered five or more targets in five of the last six weeks, though he's only got one touchdown to show for it. As a result, he's not someone to lean on in standard leagues, though he's not a bad streaming option either in such scenarios.

Panthers | Ed Dickson blanked in Week 9

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 14:21:32 -0800

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson was targeted twice in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons, but he went without a reception.

Fantasy Tip: Dickson blew up for 175 yards in Week 5 in Detroit, but he has managed just 11 receptions for 78 yards on 20 targets over the past four games. That's more like what you can expect from Dickson, which is not much. Greg Olsen cannot return soon enough from a foot injury for Cam Newton and the Cats.

Panthers | Ed Dickson active for Week 8

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 09:34:46 -0700

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson (ankle) is active for Week 8's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: Even though he has received a consistent number of targets while filling in for Greg Olsen (foot), fantasy owners should not expect Dickson to come close to replicating the five-catch, 175-yard performance he had in Week 5 versus the Detroit Lions. He should be viewed as a midrange TE2 in most fantasy formats.

Panthers | Ed Dickson likely to play

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 05:57:51 -0700

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson (ankle) is expected to play in Week 8's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: Dickson was listed as questionable on the injury report even though he was a full participant in the team's final two practice sessions of the week. He should be considered a midrange TE2 in the majority of fantasy formats.

Panthers | Questionable tag for Ed Dickson

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 15:53:30 -0700

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 27, but is listed as questionable for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Dickson appears to have a good chance to play this week, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He has been targeted 13 times over the last two games but has only 54 yards over that span. Owners can be considered other options for their lineups.

Panthers | Week 8 injury report for Carolina

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 10:11:46 -0700

Carolina Panthers C Ryan Kalil (neck), OT John Theus (concussion) and RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. S Kurt Coleman (knee), TE Ed Dickson (ankle) and LB Luke Kuechly (concussion) practiced in full Friday and are also listed as questionable. WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee), DE Bryan Cox (hip), WR Devin Funchess (hamstring), DE Charles X. Johnson (rest), OT Matt Kalil (ankle), RB Christian McCaffrey (wrist), QB Cam Newton (shoulder), DE Julius Peppers (rest), WR Curtis Samuel (ankle), RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) and OG Trai Turner (knee) all logged a full practice Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Panthers | Full practice for Ed Dickson

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 12:12:40 -0700

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Dickson has been targeted 13 times over the last two weeks but has only 54 yards during that span. He has been involved in the passing game since taking over for Greg Olsen but has had only one big offensive game. Owners in most leagues likely have better options available and can avoid Dickson.

Panthers | Ed Dickson sits out practice Wednesday

Wed, 25 Oct 2017 10:27:36 -0700

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Fantasy Tip: For now, consider him day-to-day. Dickson played all 72 snaps in Week 7, so it is unlikely this injury is all that serious. He's a middling TE2 at best in most leagues.

Panthers | Ed Dickson limited to 18 yards

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 14:52:49 -0700

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson posted three grabs for 18 yards on five targets in Week 7 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: That's two below-average performances since his breakout 175-yard game at Detroit in Week 5. We told you that game was an anomaly, as Dickson remains more of a TE2 in most fantasy formats.

Panthers | Ed Dickson does little Thursday

Thu, 12 Oct 2017 21:53:48 -0700

Carolina Panthers TE Ed Dickson had four receptions for 36 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Oct. 12. He was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Tip: Coming off a massive Week 5, Dickson looked much more like the player he'd been over the first seven years of his career. He could still have some appeal while Greg Olsen is out, but he's not someone you can reliably plug into your lineup on a weekly basis.
