Kansas City Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki (knee) is unlikely to be on the practice field until training camp in July. Moeaki has been watching from the sidelines during organized team activities this week.
Fantasy Tip: While Moeaki should be good to go for Week 1, he'll miss valuable time gaining chemistry in this overhauled offense with Alex Smith at the helm. Anthony Fasano could surpass Moeaki in the tight end pecking order as a result. Smith has traditionally been friendly to tight ends in his career, so this could make a big difference in terms of who is more productive for fantasy purposes. Regardless, you can probably wait and pluck either tight end off the waiver wire based on matchup plays.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki (knee) was present for the start of a three-day voluntary minicamp Tuesday, April 16, but he did not participate. He is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery at the end of last season. The team expects him to be ready to participate soon.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said TE Tony Moeaki (knee) will be ready for offseason workouts in May. Reid indicated the team will using a lot of two-tight end sets with Moeaki and TE Anthony Fasano next season.

Kansas City Chiefs OG Jon Asamoah and TE Tony Moeaki will both receive increases in their base salary in 2013 because of incentives in their contracts. Both players will go from $630,000 to $1.323 million.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki (knee) was not the same this season after coming back from knee surgery, and TE Jake O'Connell was not much of a weapon. This position might be in for an overhaul with new head coach Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey taking over.
