"Ahead of schedule and going great," Garrett said. "And he played really well for us when he played early on." Church has resumed running in his rehab, and he said after the season he hoped to be at 100 percent for the team's offseason conditioning program.

He acknowledged SS Barry Church is a fit in new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin's system, but was less than excited about SS Gerald Sensabaugh. "I'd say they're more in hunt of two safeties than any other position," Lacewell said of the team's needs.
