Kansas City Chiefs OG Jon Asamoah is preparing for the challenge of facing the Oakland Raiders and their active defensive line in Week 7. "I just know this is going to be a real fight on my hands, our hands, especially inside," Asamoah said. "Those two guys inside (DLs Tommy Kelly and Richard Seymour) are some of the best we've played this year."

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley had good things to say about the play of OG Jon Asamoah in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts. "I felt (Asamoah was) kind of an unsung hero in this last game - really the last two games, in my opinion - this last game especially just because of the yardage we were able to accumulate running and he's been right at the heart of that," Haley said.

Kansas City Chiefs rookie C Rodney Hudson, a second-round selection in the NFL Draft, was a four-year starter in college and provides the Chiefs with a young option on the interior of the offensive line, which was a priority need for them entering the NFL Draft.

Hudson and second-year OL Jon Asamoah are likely to make strong pushes for starting jobs in 2011. The team plans for Hudson to initially play center, but that doesn't mean C Casey Wiegmann's time with the team is over.
