Mariners | James Paxton starting Saturday

Fri, 01 Aug 2014 12:23:03 -0700

Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton (lat) will start Saturday, August 2, against the Baltimore Orioles.

Fantasy Tip: Paxton hasn't pitched in months. Starting him tomorrow against the Orioles is unadvised. However, he is worth a speculative add in AL-only formats, and he could pitch his way into the mixed league conversation.

Mariners | James Paxton could start this weekend

Wed, 30 Jul 2014 13:16:22 -0700

Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton (lat) felt good after his bullpen session Wednesday, July 30, and he could return to start against the Baltimore Orioles Saturday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: It's probably not the best idea to throw Paxton immediately into the fire against a potent O's lineup in his first start back, but AL-only managers looking for pitching help should look Paxton's way.

Mariners | Will skip Taijuan Walker's next turn

Wed, 23 Jul 2014 13:49:38 -0700

Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker will have his next turn skipped, as the club instead will have SP Hisashi Iwakuma start Tuesday, July 29. This will keep Iwakuma and the other starters on normal four days' rest.

Fantasy Tip: Walker's rotation spot may be tenuous as James Paxton (lat) nears a return and Erasmo Ramirez continues to impress.
