The new coaching staff is spending a lot of time evaluating RB Montario Hardesty, who had 271 rushing yards and a 4.2 yards per carry average on 65 rushes in 2012. Hardesty has one year remaining on his contract at $630,000, so he would be cheap to cut or keep for depth.

WR Joshua Cribbs (knee), DE Juqua Parker (knee) and DL Phil Taylor (knee, calf) were all limited in practice and are probable. OL Ryan Miller (not injury related) did not participate in practice and is probable.

Updating a previous item, Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Brad Childress said the team is "not there" when it comes to benching RB Trent Richardson (chest, finger, rib), but he could see a reduction in snaps. "Are we going to give him a series every now and then, or every third series or something to that nature?" Childress said. "Yeah, we talk about that." The lack of big plays has been a problem for Richardson. He is seventh in the NFL in attempts yet has just two plays for more than 20 yards. Meanwhile, RB Montario Hardesty is averaging 4.7 yards per carry this season.

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Brad Childress said RB Trent Richardson will not be losing carries to RB Montario Hardesty even though Richardson is averaging only 3.5 yards per carry compared to Hardesty's average of 4.7 yards per carry.
