Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the organized team activities Thursday, May 23, and was not able to return. Head coach Andy Reid said he believes McCluster will be able to return to practice next week.
Fantasy Tip: The injury does not sound serious, but McCluster has time to let the injury heal if he is not able to return next week. McCluster likely will be used as a slot receiver this season. He could be a late-round option in point-per-reception leagues, but he likely would be a waiver wire pickup in most leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin appears to be the favorite for the No. 2 wide receiver job at this point but has not emerged as the dominant offseason player like he was last offseason. WRs Donnie Avery, Dexter McCluster and Terrance Copper are also expected to be candidates for the job.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he has big plans for WR Dexter McCluster in the offense. Reid wanted to draft McCluster in 2010 while serving as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. "I like McCluster. I think he's a good football player and he has a role on this football team. I've got some things in mind for him," Reid said. "He's a unique talent because he can do a couple, three different things for you whether it's special teams as a returner or whether it's offense as a receiver or a running back."

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster said he is looking forward to playing in head coach Andy Reid's offensive scheme because he will be used at different positions. "Keeping the defense on their toes," McCluster said. "Move me around, make a headache for the defense. He said he wants to use me in multiple places. That's the type of player I am and that's the type of player I've been. Now I have the opportunity to showcase what I can really do."

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster could have a bigger role in the offense under head coach Andy Reid because of his versatility. The Philadelphia Eagles were very interested in McCluster during the 2010 NFL Draft when Reid was the Eagles head coach.
