New York Jets C Nick Mangold (leg) left the Week 5 game Oct. 8, against the Houston Texans due to an undisclosed leg injury. Mangold walked very gingerly to the cart before being loaded and taken to the locker room for further evaluation. OG Matt Slauson moved to center, with OL Vladimir Ducasse coming on at left guard.

New York Jets OG Matt Slauson has won the team's starting left guard competition over OG Vladimir Ducasse, according to head coach Rex Ryan. "I think Vlad will play … I think he's earned that right," Ryan said about Ducasse's role as a backup. "I think he's looked pretty good, but I think right now we'll go with Matt. He's got the experience. He's also looks really good to me."
