Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans WR Eric Moulds is trying to teach WR Andre Johnson some of the things he's learned through his 10 NFL seasons. WR Jerry Rice used to show up at Mississippi State when Moulds was playing there and Moulds watched and listened to everything he did and said. Moulds said, "I learned a long time ago from Jerry Rice that the harder you work in the offseason, the easier it'll be in the season. That's what I'm trying to teach Andre. The harder you work now, it'll be a cakewalk when the season starts. If you keep yourself in shape, you can play as long as you want." Johnson has embraced Moulds' plan and has been following him around throughout the offseason's practices, learning whatever he can from the veteran receiver.

"I get an opportunity to play with a receiver that's going to demand a lot of respect," Moulds said. "That's going to take a lot of pressure off of me, and I am going to do the same for him. We're going to even the playing field, so to speak. So I think it's going to be a plus for the Texans." Moulds added that he thinks he can teach Johnson a few things to be more successful. "I think that he's willing to learn those things and study and get better. He's a quiet guy, but at the same time he works hard... For me, it's easy to go up to him and say, 'Hey Dre, try it this way or try it that way. See if this works for you.' And he respects that."

Moulds said he is looking forward to working with QB David Carr and WR Andre Johnson. "(When) you spend 10 years in a place, you grow familiar with the area and the fans and you build a lot of relationships," Moulds said. "After playing with so many quarterbacks and so many coaches, you need a little stability. Mark Berman, of KRIV-TV, says Moulds arrived in Houston Monday, April 3, in anticipation of the Bills trading him to the Texans. Berman expects a deal to happen during the next 24 hours. Moulds is more than willing to join the Texans, saying, "It would be great. It's extremely important for all the guys to be here for the off-season conditioning (program). ESPN.com earlier reported that ""the Texans and Eagles appear to have the lead and both teams are expecting quick decisions." The source said the Eagles have not even had any trade discussions with the Bills for Moulds. Eagles head coach Andy Reid admitted interest in Moulds at the NFL owners meetings, saying it was an issue the team was in the process of weighing.

Greg Johnson, who represents Moulds along with agent Harry Henderson, said the wide receiver's first choice is Philadelphia. "It depends on what the compensation would be," Levy said at the NFL owners' meetings Monday, March 27. "We would talk to them, of course. We'd talk about it. We wouldn't rule them out."
