Houston Texans CB Brice McCain is having a strong camp, and he is getting plenty of extra reps with CB Kareem Jackson (hamstring) sidelined. "He's looked very good," head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday, Aug. 1. "He's getting to play as a starter a lot of times because we're resting J.J. (CB Johnathan Joseph) sometimes and Kareem's been out. He's looked exceptional."

Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said Tuesday, March 20, that CB Kareem Jackson is the team's No. 2 cornerback heading into 2012. "I think Kareem's the starter," Phillips said, expecting Jackson to work opposite Pro Bowl CB Johnathan Joseph. "He started most of the games (last season). Jason Allen played a lot for us. Of course, Jason went to Cincinnati. So, Kareem had a good year."

Smith (ankle), RB Ben Tate (groin, Achilles'), WR Kevin Walter (illness) and RB Derrick Ward (ankle) are being listed as probable for Week 6. Johnson and Ryans were limited in practice Friday, Oct. 14, while all the others practiced in full.
