Former New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez has been indicted for the alleged shooting of a witness regarding the 2012 double homicide in Boston. The witness was allegedly shot in the face by Hernandez. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Hernandez has already been found guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of Odin Lloyd and faces a life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole.

Former New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez's lawyers admitted Tuesday, April 7, for the first time in his trial that Hernandez was present at the scene of Odin Lloyd's slaying. "Did he make all the right decisions? No," lawyer James Sultan said during his closing arguments. "He was a 23-year-old kid who witnessed something, a shocking killing, committed by someone he knew. He didn't know what to do, so he just put one foot in front of the other." Sultan claimed Hernandez's co-defendants Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz committed the crime.

Free-agent TE Aaron Hernandez's (Patriots) trial for the 2012 slaying of two Boston men has been delayed six months by a judge Tuesday, Nov. 25. A lawyer representing Hernandez said his legal team would not be able to effectively prepare for that trial until Hernandez's trial for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd was over.

The New England Patriots are willing to give the lawyers for free-agent TE Aaron Hernandez (Patriots) 317 pages of information that they have asked for but do not want to give up scouting reports on him. Judge Ramond Veary said he believes the scouting reports are relevant to the case. Andrew Phelan, attorney for the Patriots, has given Hernandez's lawyers the option to review the psychological assessment on Hernandez in his office. Another hearing will take place July 22 to determine if the team will have to give up their scouting reports to Hernandez's defense team.
