Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome announced Ravens LB Rolando McClain, 23, has informed the team he is retiring. Baltimore has placed McClain on the Reserve/Retired list.
Fantasy Tip: This is a curious decision, especially for such a young player, but McClain has been embroiled in off-the-field issues and may need time away from football to straighten out his life. It would not be surprising to see him make a comeback attempt down the line. He projected as a reserve for the Ravens, so this move shouldn't affect their fantasy value as a low-end No. 1 defensive team.

Baltimore Ravens LB Rolando McClain has pleaded guilty to a window tint violation stemming from his arrest in January following a traffic stop. However, McClain still is currently due in court July 9 because of his most recent arrest on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The arrest, which occurred at a Decatur park after police responded to a disturbance, came April 21.

Updating a previous item, Baltimore Ravens LB Rolando McClain allegedly yelled obscenities at police officers Sunday, April 21, as they were trying to disperse a large crowd of over 700 people at a Decatur, Ala., park after they responded to calls about a fight. The Decatur Police Department also released a statement recounting the details of McClain's arrest. According to the release, police officers twice ordered McClain to stop walking after they identified him as the individual shouting obscenities, but he kept walking and said, "You told me to walk and I'm walking."

The Baltimore Ravens could release RB Rolando McClain prior to the start of the 2013 season. Even though the team was hopeful McClain could play a big role for them, he was guaranteed no money in his contract. His deal only could be worth a maximum of $1.1 million. McClain might have not lasted through training camp, even without his most recent legal trouble.
