Broncos | Denver counting on Carlos Henderson

Thu, 29 Mar 2018 20:20:32 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson has to win his one-on-one matchups to help out WR Demaryius Thomas and WR Emmanuel Sanders, according to head coach Vance Joseph. "We're counting on that kid to come in and play for us, especially in the slot," Joseph said.

Fantasy Tip: Henderson won't have much value in redraft leagues as Denver's third receiver, but he is worth owning in dynasty formats.

Broncos | Denver exercises Demaryius Thomas' option

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 10:40:56 -0700

The Denver Broncos officially exercised the $4 million option bonus in WR Demaryius Thomas' contract Tuesday, March 13, locking him $12.5 million between salary and bonuses in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is coming off a pair of disappointing seasons - for him anyway - but the Broncos appear confident the 30-year-old's production is more of a result of a bad quarterback play than a decline of skill. It's a reasonable assumption. While the expected addition of Case Keenum probably won't resuscitate Thomas' value to where it was when Peyton Manning was around, he should be able to enjoy another 90-catch, 1,000-yard season in 2018.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas to stick around

Sun, 11 Mar 2018 20:17:49 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is expected to have his $4 million option for 2018 officially picked up in the next day or two, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post.

Fantasy Tip: This was the plan all along for Thomas, and even if the quarterback situation in Denver remains messy, he should at least be a WR3. If the Broncos land a reliable starter, he could easily return to WR2 status.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will stay

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 13:03:10 -0800

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are expected to remain in Denver, according to general manager John Elway. Thomas' $4 million option will be picked up.

Fantasy Tip: It makes sense that the Broncos would keep arguably their two best offensive players if they want to entice a better quarterback to town. Thomas can be drafted as a WR2 no matter who the quarterback is with Sanders capable of low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 numbers.

Broncos | Denver to keep both wide receivers?

Wed, 14 Feb 2018 10:22:38 -0800

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders could both stay on the roster in an effort to better lure a big-name quarterback, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Sanders, in particular, had been rumored to be traded or released this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Broncos need more money to make a good pitch to someone like Kirk Cousins. If they keep Thomas and Sanders then they'll likely released Aqib Talib and C.J. Anderson. If they do land a top quarterback then the fantasy value of both Thomas and Sanders will naturally increase.

Broncos | Denver has decision on Demaryius Thomas

Sat, 10 Feb 2018 09:20:48 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has a $1 million option in his contract that would trigger the final two years of the contract if exercised, and the Broncos have until the middle of March to make a decision on the option. The team would take on $3.1 million in dead money if they decide to decline the option. Thomas would count around $12 million and $17.5 million in the cap space over the next two seasons if the option is picked up.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas saw a small drop in his stats this season but still finished with 83 receptions, 949 yards and five touchdowns. Thomas should be a starting receiver for a team in 2018 and can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas' spot in jeopardy?

Fri, 12 Jan 2018 18:35:45 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas could be asked to restructure his contract or be cut, according to Troy Renck of Denver7 Sports, because of a provision that allows Denver to void the final two years of his contract if his $4 million option bonus is not picked up by the end of the league year on March 14.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas failed to reach 1,000 yards for the first time since 2011. Denver's quarterback situation certainly didn't help, but age is not on his side either. If Denver lands a proven quarterback or if Thomas ends up with a better offense, he may have one more big year in him. For now, consider him a WR3 with a safer floor in PPR formats.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas' streak ends

Sun, 31 Dec 2017 19:57:50 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas had 83 catches for 949 yards in 2017, finishing with fewer than 90 receptions and less than 1,000 yards for the first time since 2011.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas should remain with the Broncos in 2018, but unless Denver can figure out its quarterback situation, he will likely underperform again next year.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas close to milestone

Tue, 26 Dec 2017 14:53:54 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas needs 108 receiving yards in Week 17 to reach 1,000 yards for the sixth straight season. He would be the second Broncos wide receiver to achieve the feat.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas had an offseason by his standards, there's no getting around it. A lot of his struggles were thanks to poor play by the quarterbacks and the offensive line. Even so, Thomas will be a high-end WR2 consideration as Denver's top target.
