Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown restructured his contract Wednesday, March 7, to free up $9.7 million in Pittsburgh's 2018 salary cap. The move helps Pittsburgh afford RB Le'Veon Bell's $14.544 million franchise tag.

Fantasy Tip: It's a move that helps everyone involved. Now the Steelers can focus on trying to sign Bell to that long-term contract. As for Brown, he's a perennial No. 1 wide receiver and is worthy of top-five consideration in 2018.

Steelers | Antonio Brown at walk-through Saturday

Sat, 13 Jan 2018 09:15:02 -0800

Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (calf, illness) participated in a walk-through Saturday, Jan. 13, and "looked fully healthy" according to a couple of his teammates.

Fantasy Tip: While it still wouldn't be a surprise if the Steelers make him a game-time decision, the combination of mostly favorable reports all week and the importance of the game should be enough for owners to place their faith into him. At worst, he is a top-two play at receiver this weekend despite this week's illness and his matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Brown will be good to go in the divisional round of the playoffs after several weeks of recovering from a torn calf muscle. He faces a tough test against Jalen Ramsey and the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Brown went for 10 catches and 157 yards in Pittsburgh's regular season loss to the Jags. He's obviously an automatic start in daily playoff games despite the tough matchup.

Wed, 20 Dec 2017 20:37:40 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown reached 100 receptions for the fifth straight season with his performance in the team's Week 15 game Sunday, Dec. 17. That breaks a tie with retired WR Marvin Harrison for the longest such streak in NFL history.

Fantasy Tip: Brown leads the league in receptions (101) and receiving yards (1,533) going into Week 16 but unfortunately, owners who have made it this far with his services will have to do battle without their star wide-out in action this weekend. In his absence, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant should be busy and active in all lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Tomlin did not expand on the injury or Brown's timetable, although he is expected to return in time for the playoffs. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant did see a significant increase in targets while he is away, while Le'Veon Bell becomes even more of a lock for 30 touches than he already was. Smith-Schuster and Bryant are very much in play as high-upside WR3s against the Houston Texans in Week 16.

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 17:00:49 -0800

The hope is that he will be able to return to the team in the playoffs, but his regular season is over. No surgery will be required for the injury.

Fantasy Tip: It's good news for his real team, but terrible news for Brown's fantasy owners who were looking for big things in Week 16. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant will hold down the fort in the passing game, while Le'Veon Bell will continue to see a high rate of catches out of the backfield.

Steelers | Positive news for Antonio Brown?

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 14:23:24 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (calf) was taken for X-rays in the second quarter of the Week 15 game against the New England Patriots. The team is calling his ailment a calf injury, and he is questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like great news, as he would have been ruled out if the X-rays showed a more serious situation. It's hard to believe he'll return to the game with rainy, slippery conditions and a calf injury, but they have an important game with the Patriots for home-field advantage in the AFC on the line, so we'll see.

Steelers | Antonio Brown makes NFL history

Wed, 06 Dec 2017 21:08:27 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown set an NFL record for most receptions (596) and receiving yards (7,611) over a five-year span, doing so in the team's Week 13 win Monday, Dec. 4, versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Each record was previously held by retired WR Marvin Harrison.

Fantasy Tip: What else is there to say that hasn't already been said about Brown? He continues to justify his position as the top player drafted in many fantasy leagues, and there appears to be no slowing him down. This season, Brown is enjoying yet another incredible campaign, having registered 88 receptions for 1,296 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games. It's safe to say that he'll be padding both those records sizably in the last four contests.

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 11:11:36 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (toe) did not participate in practice Saturday, Dec. 2, and is listed as questionable for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Brown may be a game-time decision against the Cincinnati Bengals and is a risky fantasy option since the Steelers play on Monday Night Football. Owners may consider waiting to see if he plays but should have other options from that game available in case he is ruled out.

Steelers | Antonio Brown misses another practice

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 10:00:26 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (toe) did not practice for a second straight day Saturday, Dec. 2, but teammates still expect him to play on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Toe injuries always seem to go underappreciated by fantasy owners, and the fact Brown has now missed two late-week practices due to one should be cause for concern. The fact Pittsburgh plays Monday night means owners will need to make a call on taking a zero or possibly living with Brown serving as a decoy in what is one of the most important weeks of the season for fantasy owners. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant would likely draw starts in his absence, but neither would be more than a WR3.

Steelers | Antonio Brown dismembers the Titans

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 21:02:18 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown caught 10 passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns during the team's 40-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: This was the best the Steelers looked offensively all season, and Brown was the centerpiece of their attack. It was Brown's fourth game of at least 10 receptions on the year, and his fifth 100-plus-yard performance (first since Week 6). His touchdowns were the best part as he matched his previous year-to-date total while outclassing the Titans secondary. Brown remains a must-start every week.
