Steelers | Antonio Brown makes NFL history

Wed, 06 Dec 2017 21:08:27 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown set an NFL record for most receptions (596) and receiving yards (7,611) over a five-year span, doing so in the team's Week 13 win Monday, Dec. 4, versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Each record was previously held by retired WR Marvin Harrison.

Fantasy Tip: What else is there to say that hasn't already been said about Brown? He continues to justify his position as the top player drafted in many fantasy leagues, and there appears to be no slowing him down. This season, Brown is enjoying yet another incredible campaign, having registered 88 receptions for 1,296 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games. It's safe to say that he'll be padding both those records sizably in the last four contests.

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 11:11:36 -0800

Steelers | Antonio Brown misses another practice

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 10:00:26 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (toe) did not practice for a second straight day Saturday, Dec. 2, but teammates still expect him to play on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Toe injuries always seem to go underappreciated by fantasy owners, and the fact Brown has now missed two late-week practices due to one should be cause for concern. The fact Pittsburgh plays Monday night means owners will need to make a call on taking a zero or possibly living with Brown serving as a decoy in what is one of the most important weeks of the season for fantasy owners. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant would likely draw starts in his absence, but neither would be more than a WR3.

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 21:02:18 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown caught 10 passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns during the team's 40-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: This was the best the Steelers looked offensively all season, and Brown was the centerpiece of their attack. It was Brown's fourth game of at least 10 receptions on the year, and his fifth 100-plus-yard performance (first since Week 6). His touchdowns were the best part as he matched his previous year-to-date total while outclassing the Titans secondary. Brown remains a must-start every week.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown posted three receptions for 47 yards on seven targets in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Brown's fantasy owners were stunned, as the Colts aren't a great defense. However, the emergence of rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster has really stolen some of the spotlight from Brown. In fact, Brown had just two grabs for 15 yards until the drive to set up the game-winning field goal. Brown will look to rebound in Week 11 against the Titans on Thursday.

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 20:46:40 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown posted four receptions for a game-high 65 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Owners already know Bell and Brown are obvious must-starts, but this stat reflects just how heavily the Steelers rely on them to carry the offense. Bell already has a league-high164 touches despite getting eased into action in Week 1, while Brown has nine more targets (74) and 196 more receiving yards than any other receiver.

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 19:34:38 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown racked up eight receptions for 155 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Brown had a 51-yard game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter which not only sealed the win, but more importantly put fantasy owners over the 100-yard mark. It was just his second visit to the end zone in six games, and both scores have come on the road. He'll look for his first home touchdown in Week 7 against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 14:08:12 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown hauled in 10 receptions and 157 yards on his 19 targets in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: The yardage total was his best since the season opener in Cleveland. He already has three games with 10 or more receptions and 64 targets through five outings. That's great news for fantasy owners, but he has managed just trip to the end zone so far. He'll look for his second touchdown of the season in Week 6, but it might be tough sledding in Kansas City.

Sat, 07 Oct 2017 19:11:54 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown returned punts in Week 4, and he said he is going to continue to return punts going forward.

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 18:52:25 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown was limited to just 34 yards on four receptions in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens. He was targeted nine times.

Fantasy Tip: Brown doesn't have many disappointing games, especially from a fantasy perspective, but you can chalk this up to a prepared Baltimore defense. Brown will look to bounce back against a more giving Jaguars pass defense in Week 5.

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 17:07:26 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown gathered 10 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Brown had a giant game in Week 1 with 11 receptions and 182 yards, but this was his first visit to the end zone in 2017. He already has two games with 10 or more receptions, which is even more pleasing to PPR fantasy owners than those in standard leagues. The Steelers face the Ravens in Week 4 in Baltimore.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR Antonio Brown will not play in the team's exhibition opener against the New York Giants on Friday, Aug. 11.

Fantasy Tip: The Steelers have no reason to expose their quarterback and arguably the game's best receiver to potential injury this weekend, especially when neither player would play more than one or two series anyway. Expect the duo to get their first preseason snaps on Aug. 20 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Steelers | Antonio Brown on hot streak

Tue, 04 Jul 2017 12:00:27 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is the third wide receiver in NFL history to amass at least 400 catches, 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in years four through seven of a professional career. Former WRs Herman Moore and Marvin Harrison are the other two receivers to accomplish the feat.

Fantasy Tip: Brown hasn't stopped being elite since 2013 -- the year after Hines Ward retired. Since then he has averaged 120.25 catches, 1,578.75 yards and 10.75 touchdowns per season. He has been a top three PPR wide receiver in each of those four seasons as well. Needless to say, Brown deserves consideration as early as the first overall pick of fantasy drafts.

Steelers | Antonio Brown ran wrong routes in 2016?

Sun, 05 Feb 2017 10:21:32 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown has already had contract with the front office in regards to a contract extension, but Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes the team should consider trading him as he enters his walk year. According to Cook, Brown committed three excessive celebration penalties early in the season, jogged back to the line of scrimmage in the team's first playoff game during a two-minute drill and frequently ran the wrong routes in more than one game as a way to pout about how he was being used.

Fantasy Tip: As Cook points out, the Steelers have a lot of places to spend the money they would theoretically not use on Brown should they decide enough is enough, such as extending Le'Veon Bell and/or Stephon Tuitt. It's unlikely a trade ever comes to fruition, but it has become clear the Facebook Live incident drove some of the people on the fence about Brown's previous antics over the edge. The 28-year-old Brown is a good bet to remain a Steeler and remain a top-three fantasy receiver for at least one or two more years.

Tue, 31 Jan 2017 14:27:25 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Obviously the Steelers want to lock up Brown for a long time. He's arguably the best receiver in the NFL and is a PPR mammoth every season. As is the case every year, Brown should be one of, if not, the first receivers taken in fantasy drafts in 2017.

Steelers | Antonio Brown not long for Pittsburgh?

Sun, 29 Jan 2017 10:20:46 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is about to enter the final season of a six-year contract he signed in 2012. However, his antics are reportedly "wearing thin" on some of his teammates and coaches. One week after live streaming head coach Mike Tomlin's postgame speech after the Steelers' Divisional Round over the Kansas City Chiefs, he drew criticism from Ben Roethlisberger for pouting about not getting the ball enough in the AFC Championship loss to the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Brown has not missed a game in four years and is one of the hardest working players on the team, by all accounts. While he does appear to have leverage in any future negotiations with the Steelers, the team hasn't hesitated moving on from players who may bring unfavorable attention to the organization. In all likelihood, Brown will work something out with Pittsburgh sometime in the next few months. He will once again be in the running to be the first receiver off the board in fantasy drafts in 2017.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown caught just five passes for 53 yards in zone coverage against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game. He only bested Patriots CB Malcolm Butler for two catches and 24 yards in zone coverage.

Fantasy Tip: Butler did a great job in coverage all game. Look for him to shadow Julio Jones as much as possible in the Super Bowl. Despite Brown's lack of success in such a crucial game, he remains a top-tier receiver in all fantasy formats for 2017.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is one of only two receivers in NFL history to achieve four consecutive seasons of at least 100 catches. Former Indianapolis Colts Marvin Harrison is the other.

Fantasy Tip: Not much can be said about Brown's accolades that haven't already been said. He's the best receiver in the league and he proves it year after year. His high volume of catches makes him more valuable in PPR leagues, but he should be the first receiver taken in both PPR and standard leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Other than a possible fine, don't expect harsh repercussions from Brown's post-game gaffe. He's the best receiver in the NFL and should be the first receiver taken in fantasy drafts next season, particularly in PPR leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin suggested Tuesday, Dec. 27, that QB Ben Roethlisberger, RB Le'Veon Bell, WR Antonio Brown and C Maurkice Pouncey probably won't play in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns. "They are guys I'll look hard at protecting and preserving," Tomlin said.

Fantasy Tip: No surprise here, as the Pittsburgh is locked into a No. 3 seed during the AFC playoffs and has nothing to gain regardless of the result. Landry Jones, Fitzgerald Toussaint and Eli Rogers will likely be the Steelers' top offensive weapons this weekend, although Pittsburgh could easily choose to increase DeAngelo Williams' workload since he has seen only one snap since Week 8 following knee surgery. In such a favorable matchup, whomever starts between Toussaint or Williams could be a nice play in DFS.
