Tue, 18 Jun 2013 15:06:29 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks aren't saying how long SP Randall Delgado may stay in the starting rotation after taking the spot of SP Tyler Skaggs. The team didn't use P Josh Collmenter for the rotation because they think he fits best in a long-relief role. Manager Kirk Gibson isn't committing to Delgado past his start Tuesday, June 18, though. Fantasy Tip: Delgado is making the start in place of Brandon McCarthy (shoulder). How Delgado fares tonight will likely determine if he'll remain in the rotation or if the D-backs will recall Tyler Skaggs. Delgado is purely NL-only fodder right now.
Tue, 18 Jun 2013 13:54:02 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned P Charles Brewer to Triple-A Reno Tuesday, June 18, to make room on the roster for SP Randall Delgado.
Mon, 17 Jun 2013 14:01:15 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks SP Randall Delgado will start the team's game Tuesday, June 18.
Tue, 04 Jun 2013 11:06:42 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks officially recalled SP Tyler Skaggs Tuesday, June 4, and optioned SP Randall Delgado to the minors in a corresponding move. Also, the team signed free-agent 1B Mike Jacobs (Mariners) to a minor league deal. Fantasy Tip: Skaggs should be added in most leagues with Brandon McCarthy on the disabled list. Skaggs pitched well in his first start this year last week against the Texas Rangers. He draws another challenging start against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight.
Sat, 01 Jun 2013 13:51:44 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled P Randall Delgado from Triple-A Reno to replace injured SP Brandon McCarthy (shoulder) on the 25-man roster. However, SP Tyler Skaggs is likely to be recalled from Reno to replace McCarthy in the rotation Tuesday, June 4, against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 15:23:10 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks have yet to decide between SPs Randall Delgado and Patrick Corbin for the No. 5 starter job. Each pitcher will have one more outing before a decision is made.
Mon, 18 Mar 2013 14:52:46 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks SP Randall Delgado allowed just two runs in five innings Monday, March 18, strengthening his case for the No. 5 rotation spot. He is competing with SP Patrick Corbin. Fantasy Tip: Delgado appears to be the favorite for the rotation spot based on his spring performance. He made solid gains in his ability to induced grounders last season. His inconsistent control and command limit his value to NL-only leagues, though.
Thu, 14 Mar 2013 16:46:20 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks SP Randall Delgado impressed Thursday, March 14, by throwing four shutout innings. He is competing with SPs Patrick Corbin and Tyler Skaggs for the No. 5 rotation post. "That's as good as we've seen this spring out of our staff," Kirk Gibson said of Delgado. "He looked really good, had good velocity, all his pitches were working. He got into some trouble early and got out of it. That's the kind of guy that we were hoping we'd get."
Wed, 06 Mar 2013 20:50:14 -0800 Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin suffered his first poor outing of the spring Wednesday, March 6, allowing four runs in one inning against the Kansas City Royals. He is battling SPs Randall Delgado and Tyler Skaggs for the fifth starter spot in the rotation.
Tue, 12 Feb 2013 13:56:20 -0800 Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said there is no favorite between SPs Tyler Skaggs, Patrick Corbin and Randall Delgado for the fifth spot in the rotation. The losers of the competition will both report to Triple-A Reno because the team sees all three pitchers as rotation options and not relievers.
