Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said he has to find a way to get DL Everson Griffen more playing time in 2012. "We've got to. He showed that he's worthy of more snaps than what we gave him. When we went back and looked at his number of snaps versus his production, he needs more snaps," Frazier said.

While Minnesota Vikings DL Jared Allen is a defensive player of the year candidate, and Brian Robison and Kevin Williams held their own, the team struggled up front. DLs Everson Griffen, Letroy Guion, Remi Ayodele, Fred Evans and Christian Ballard all struggled in 2011. Ballard saw time at multiple spots, and might need to focus on one position. Ayodele and Evans figure to return, but they might have plenty of competition in training camp.

Minnesota Vikings DE Everson Griffen could move to linebacker next season because the team has depth at defensive end and they want to get him on the field. The team considered the move last season but there were no offseason workouts to work on the transition.

Minnesota Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman said troubled DL Everson Griffen had a positive meeting with head coach Leslie Frazier and the team is still confident in him, according to Tom Pelissero, of 1500ESPN.com. "I'll keep internally what's been discussed, but we feel very confident in Everson," Spielman said.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is looking into the circumstances surrounding Minnesota Vikings DE Everson Griffen's two arrests over the past week, reports 1500ESPN.com's Tom Pelissero. His first arrest was for being drunk in public and his second arrest was for battery after allegedly fleeing police who stopped him for a traffic violation.
