Wed, 19 Jun 2013 09:35:33 -0700 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker hasn't missed a practice so far during his ahead-of-schedule recovery from January surgery on his non-throwing shoulder. He's keeping up with the new playbook from offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains and has cut down on his mistakes in drills. Fantasy Tip: Locker isn't anything more than a low-end backup fantasy QB, but he has a chance to make some noise with his feet, so that adds to his potential contributions.
Thu, 13 Jun 2013 11:00:48 -0700 Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said QB Jake Locker is his quarterback and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is strictly the backup and knows his role on the team.
Thu, 06 Jun 2013 12:17:14 -0700 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker has been impressive in organized team activities. Locker has thrown 14 touchdowns and three interceptions in team drills. Locker also rushed for a touchdown. Fantasy Tip: Locker appears to have put his health issues behind him, and is showing he is completely healthy this offseason. Still, Locker is a No. 2 fantasy quarterback at best.
Fri, 31 May 2013 11:05:59 -0700 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) said he feels like his old self with the shoulder, and has had no issues. Fantasy Tip: Good news for the Titans QB that he appears to have returned to normal health wise. That being said, there is still a lot of risk with Locker in terms of fantasy football, and he should not be counted on as more than a low end backup option for your roster.
Wed, 22 May 2013 11:11:32 -0700 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) will be ready to throw without limitations during organized team activities that start next week. He underwent surgery around 20 weeks ago to fix his non-throwing shoulder that popped out of joint multiple times last year. The team will be installing a run-first offense this year under offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains. "He plays sometimes with a linebacker mentality, and I know it's sometimes for the effect. He wants his teammates to see how tough he is, but he needs to learn to take care of himself. You know his speed and the ability to run and throw on the run is something we want to take advantage of," Loggains said. Fantasy Tip: Locker should be considered a risky backup selection this year based on injury concerns and the team's changing offensive philosophy. However, if he can stay healthy, Kenny Britt, Kendall Wright and this year's draft choice, Justin Hunter, could provide plenty of targets for Locker.
Wed, 15 May 2013 11:23:03 -0700 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) said it feels like his left shoulder is back to normal and that he will definitely be cleared for training camp. Fantasy Tip: Good news for Locker as it appears he will be good to go for training camp as long as there are no setbacks the rest of the summer.

Mon, 22 Apr 2013 11:17:54 -0700 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) said he has been cleared for everything except taking a hit. Locker said he will participate in the offseason workouts in June.
Sun, 24 Mar 2013 21:23:33 -0700 Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak hinted that running could become a bigger part of QB Jake Locker's arsenal in 2013. "Jake brings that dimension to the game, but you have to be smart about it," Munchak said. "You want to take advantage of all the skills he does have, though it's hard to survive if you're running it all the time. So it has to be a happy medium, and that's what we'll try to find." Fantasy Tip: Locker is expected to be fully recovered from a shoulder injury in time for training camp. He enters 2013 as a solid No. 2 fantasy option at his position, and running would add some appeal.
Wed, 20 Mar 2013 06:35:26 -0700 Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said QB Jake Locker will enter 2013 as the starting quarterback, even after the addition of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Munchak wants Fitzpatrick to push Locker, but believes the competition will make Locker a better player. "I think (Fitzpatrick) understands his role," Muchak said. "It's Jake's team. It's Jake's time. Jake's going to be our guy. We made that decision last year after training camp. Ryan has been in this situation before … He's going to compete with (Locker) and I think he'll help him a lot throughout the week. It will be another great mentor for him. And we feel he can win if he has to play. That's how we felt with Matt Hasselbeck also."
Wed, 06 Mar 2013 12:48:56 -0800 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker said he does not believe he has accuracy issues in his passing game. "I don't," Locker said. "I never have. At the end of the day, wins and losses is what I think everybody cares about and obviously we didn't get that done either. But I think for me there's situations I think when I had guys around me, sometimes I just need to become a little more comfortable with a little bit of noise in front of me and that's things that I will work on this offseason. But I don't think that's a problem, and I think just continue to work and get better and who knows if that number will go up? I hope the wins ... go up."
Thu, 14 Feb 2013 04:57:04 -0800 Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains will incorporate some things that will play to QB Jake Locker's talents, namely his ability to throw on the move and scramble. That might mean even exploring some of the pistol or read-option into the playbook on occasion. "We're going to do just like every team in the league and look at clubs like Seattle and Washington. We're still very early in the process of building this offense, but we're definitely gonna look at all that stuff, just like every team in the NFL is gonna do," Loggains said.
Mon, 11 Feb 2013 10:59:35 -0800 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) said during a radio interview that he should be ready for the start of offseason workouts.
Thu, 07 Feb 2013 12:40:06 -0800 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) visited the team facility Wednesday, Feb. 6, to continue his rehab for a shoulder issue.
Tue, 05 Feb 2013 21:38:35 -0800 Tennessee Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck will count $5.5 million against the salary cap, so he might be released since the team has a capable quarterback option in QB Jake Locker and many needs at other positions. If he is released, Hasselbeck might get a starting opportunity elsewhere.
Thu, 24 Jan 2013 07:58:40 -0800 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) said the only pain he experiences following shoulder surgery is when he sleeps. Locker has to sleep upright in a recliner or on a couch. "My pain level, I feel fine with it. It doesn't hurt too bad," Locker said. "It's just getting used to not being able to use one arm. It's kind of a shock to the system. And the trying to sleep at night, that's the worst part. It's been awful." He expects to be in a sling until he sees his doctor again in about a month. Locker hopes to be ready for minicamps in June.
Wed, 09 Jan 2013 10:37:59 -0800 Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery Wednesday, Jan. 9. The team is hoping he will be able to return by May.
Thu, 03 Jan 2013 05:10:19 -0800 Tennessee Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck said he understands his role will be as a backup to QB Jake Locker if he returns to the team next season. "I like our quarterback room a lot and if I'm here, I understand where we are in Jake's development and all that, so I guess, really, I'm OK with being a part of his maturing process if that's the role I have to play," Hasselbeck said. "What also goes with that role is stepping in if he can't go, so I knew all that coming in. Some guys might feel differently at the stage I am in my career or whatever. But the only thing that's important to me that goes with that is I want to be on a team that is good and that is heading in the right direction."

"Jake needs to grow through these things," Loggains said. "The situation against Houston, it's the same thing. It's part of being a young quarterback. How you respond is how your teammates are going to look at you." Locker completed just 13 of his 30 pass attempts for 140 yards, and he was sacked seven times to drop to 3-7 as a starter.

Tue, 27 Nov 2012 10:30:05 -0800 With the move to new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, the Tennessee Titans are expected to return some of their base principles run by former offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger. Loggains will look to get rid of confusion that was created in Chris Palmer's offense where the quarterback and receiver were regularly crossed up and not on the same page. Palmer's option routes frequently included no flexibility for the players. Loggains is expected to allow receivers more freedom to play off coverages to take advantage of space and work in it. QB Jake Locker will be allowed to see something develop and take advantage of it. The move to Loggains should mean more downfield options. Some of the underneath options may disappear - a tight end heading into the flat may now stay in to block to allow the other tight end who is crossing deeper a chance to make a play. Fantasy Tip: The coordinator change should benefit the offense positively overall. Perhaps Jared Cook will see the biggest value spike, giving Locker another downfield option other than Kenny Britt, Nate Washington or Kendall Wright. Chris Johnson should feel more comfortable with Loggains at the helm, too, giving him a chance to get back to his more natural, instinctual running style.

And he knows that. It's part of the deal. And if you ask Jake, he doesn't expect to be rusty. He's worked his butt off to be ready."
