Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley said he and DT Ndamukong Suh are the most dangerous defensive tackle tandem in the league heading into 2013. "Of course," Fairley said. "We're going to give guys trouble, man. It's like pick your poison this year with our defensive line. You cannot come in and double-team Ndamukong and you can't come in and double-team me."

The Detroit Lions would like free-agent DT Sammie Hill (Lions) back, and they really like his skillset and value him in the rotation. However, he is getting interest from some other teams and the Lions aren't in a position to match a multimillion per-year offer for Hill to come back as a backup behind DLs Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh.

Detroit Lions DT Ndamukong Suh triggered an escalator clause with his play in 2012, which bumps his base salary up $1 million for 2013. Suh is now scheduled to make $12.15 million in 2013, with a salary cap number of $18.17 million, second highest on the team behind QB Matthew Stafford ($20.82 million). Lions general manager Martin Mayhew indicated last week that the team has no plans to try and work out a new deal with Suh this offseason.

The Detroit Lions could consider asking DT Ndamukong Suh to restructure his contract this offseason but it is not in their plans at this point. His salary cap hit for 2013 will be $17.6 million.

Detroit Lions DT Ndamukong Suh was added to the 2013 NFC Pro Bowl roster Sunday, Jan. 20, replacing San Francisco 49ers DT Justin Smith.

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said Wednesday, Jan. 2, that DT Ndamukong Suh was the only defensive player who improved. Mayhew said everyone else played below his expectations.

Detroit Lions DT Ndamukong Suh played in every defensive snap in the team's Week 14 game, with the Green Bay Packers running only 53 offensive plays in the contest. His extended workload was due in part to DE Corey Williams' (knee) absence. DT Nick Fairley played 33 snaps and DT Sammie Hill played 24 snaps.

Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham is very happy with what he's seeing from DTs Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh this season. "I've never seen two guys do things they've done the last two or three weeks," Cunningham said.

Detroit Lions DE Ndamukong Suh won't be fined after giving Indianapolis Colts OT Winston Justice (concussion) a concussion in Week 13. Colts players insist that Suh and his teammates then celebrated the injury to Justice on the sideline. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league isn't looking into the incident because "there was no flag thrown and nothing illegal that appears on film."
