New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram rushed for 178 yards and one touchdown in the first eight games of the 2012 season but rushed for 424 yards and four touchdowns in the second half of the season.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram said he does not want his personal goals to outweigh the team's goals this season. "I just want to go out there and do what I can to help the team win a championship," Ingram said. "Of course I want to have a big year individually. But, you know, the main goal is to win games and stay healthy and be out there on the field on Sundays." Ingram said he is fine with sharing carries with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles.

New Orleans Saints RB Chris Ivory had eight carries for a team-high 34 yards in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers. RB Mark Ingram had 10 carries, but he managed just 27 yards. RB Pierre Thomas had one carry for no gain. Meanwhile, RB Darren Sproles had no carries, but he did post a team-high seven catches and 65 yards.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram carried 12 times for a team-best 67 yards and a touchdown in the Week 11 game against the Oakland Raiders. RB Chris Ivory spelled him eight times for 37 yards, and RB Pierre Thomas came on for five carries and 30 yards.

New Orleans Saints head coach Joe Vitt said the team is enamored with all three of their running back options with RB Darren Sproles (hand) out. "We've liked all three running backs since we acquired them. Pierre Thomas has done a phenomenal job since he's been with us since '07. Pierre has great balance. He's a great screen back. He can catch the ball out of the backfield. We know that Chris Ivory is one of those guys who can run with power and can make you miss. Mark Ingram, we believe is an elite back, who after having some offseason surgery is starting to come around," Vitt said. He added that the team created a specific game plan for each back this past week in order to give all three of them some touches.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram posted 44 rushing yards on seven carries in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles Monday, Nov. 5, while RB Pierre Thomas managed 44 yards on six totes. Thomas also chipped in with two catches for 26 yards while Ingram had a pair of grabs for 23 yards.
