|Saints | Mark Ingram undergoes surgery|
Wed, 17 Sep 2014 12:36:20 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (hand) underwent surgery to place two screws in his broken hand, according to head coach Sean Payton. Ingram will not play in Week 3, but the injury is not believed to be a long-term injury.
Fantasy Tip: Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson are expected to get most of the work at running back while Ingram is out. Both Thomas and Robinson are solid options to use in all leagues. Robinson likely is a better value on FantasyScore since he only costs $4,500, but Thomas is also a good value at $5,700.

Fantasy Tip: Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson likely will receive most of the work while Ingram is sidelined. Depending on the price, both players could be solid options on FantasyScore for Week 3.

|Saints | Mark Ingram out a month|
Mon, 15 Sep 2014 09:29:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ingram's injury boosts the value of Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson in the Saints' backfield. Both could be good buys in Week 3 at FantasyScore against the Minnesota Vikings at home.

|Saints | Mark Ingram stands out|
Mon, 08 Sep 2014 06:36:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It was one of his most productive games of his career. The team faces a tough matchup in the Browns in Week 2. If Ingram's price tag doesn't rise too much on FantasyScore, he could be a low-end RB2.

|Saints | Mark Ingram dominating |
Tue, 26 Aug 2014 17:44:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ingram appears to have earned first crack at being the team's early-down back, and if the Saints continue to let him play on some passing downs, it will help prevent defenses from focusing on stopping the run when he is in the game. He will likely never become a true lead back in New Orleans' spread-the-wealth offense, but Ingram has a chance to be a solid flex play this year.

|Saints | Mark Ingram's role evolving|
Tue, 19 Aug 2014 19:50:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ingram has looked like a more decisive runner during the preseason, and the fact that he is being used a little in the passing game is encouraging. The Saints rotate their picks too frequently and throw the ball too much to make Ingram more than a RB4 on draft day, but when you do decide to roll the dice on one of New Orleans' running backs, Ingram looks like he has the most upside at this point.

|Saints | Pierre Thomas third in pecking order|
Mon, 11 Aug 2014 05:30:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: As has been the case previously in New Orleans, the running back committee will make all three options frustrating for fantasy football owners. The pecking order could easily change before Week 1, too. All three rushers may be nothing more than flex plays most weeks, and Thomas will definitely be more valuable in PPR affairs.

|Saints | Mark Ingram will be core player|
Thu, 24 Jul 2014 16:31:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: This is the year for Ingram to prove his disappointing career has been a fluke thus far. He'll likely see most of the running work while splitting time with RBs Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas. It's still best to be cautious with him at this point. He's an RB4 at best in standard leagues.

|Saints | Mark Ingram more focused|
Thu, 12 Jun 2014 10:11:56 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram has shown increased focus in offseason practices this year and has been more intense during workouts as he enters his contract year. Ingram knows he must work hard, because RBs Khiry Robinson and Travaris Cadet wait in the wings. Head coach Sean Payton noted that Ingram did a good job of tuning out some of the criticism last year, when his 4.9 yards per carry led the team in 2013.

|Saints | Mark Ingram to use contract as motivation|
Thu, 05 Jun 2014 11:35:26 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram said he is more motivated after the team declined to pick up his fifth-year option this offseason. "Like they said, they really like me as a player," Ingram said. "Just the (salary) number was a little high for what a running back gets on the free-agent market."
Fantasy Tip: Ingram came on strong at the tail end of last season, but the problem is Khiry Robinson was even better, and the Saints still have Pierre Thomas in the fold. The Saints may be more ground-based in 2014, but the presence of Robinson, especially, will hurt Ingram's value.
