New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram has expressed mixed feelings about the cuts made by the team over the last several days, but he understands these cuts could lead to a bigger role for him in the offense. "It's crazy to think about, and it's shocking with everything going on. But it's just the business side of everything. Those guys in the front office are doing what they think is best to have success this year," Ingram said.

New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (chest) did not practice again Friday, Jan. 3, and is ruled out for the team's Wild Card game this weekend.
Fantasy Tip: Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram will be used in tandem to replace Thomas, and Khiry Robinson could also be involved to a lesser extend against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The New Orleans Saints could consider releasing RB Mark Ingram or Pierre Thomas this offseason because RB Khiry Robinson has received a bigger role in the offense. The team would save around $1.4 million if Ingram is released and $2.9 million if Thomas is released.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram had only 25 yards on six carries in the team's Week 11 win over the San Francisco 49ers after his big game a week ago.
Fantasy Tip: Ingram remains third on the depth chart behind Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas. It'll be maddening to rely on him for fantasy purposes unless the Saints are ahead by a large margin.
Mon, 11 Nov 2013 10:22:02 -0800
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram had a career-high 145 rushing yards on 14 carries in the team's Week 10 win over the Dallas Cowboys. It was his first 100-yard game of his three-year career. The Saints finished with 242 yards rushing on 38 carries.
Fantasy Tip: Ingram looked the best he's looked in ages, but don't get too excited just yet. Most of his work came with the Saints up by a large margin, and the Cowboys' defense was missing several key starters. Keep Ingram on your radar if you're desperate at running back, but also remember that he'll continue to fight for touches with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 15:33:16 -0800
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe) made his return in Week 9 against the New York Jets, but he carried just four times for 19 yards and he did not have any receptions while being targeted just once.
Fantasy Tip: Ingram did little, but at least he did something. He is unplayable if you're a fantasy owner, though. The Saints likely wanted to walk across the field and try to get Chris Ivory back. He wrecked the Saints rushing defense for 139 yards and a touchdown.
