Osuna was selected in the Rule 5 Draft, but the Atlanta Braves declined their option to bring Osuna back. That made it possible for the Royals to have the right to send him to the minors.

The Associated Press reports Osuna walked two and struck out two in three innings. He has a 10.00 ERA in four outings, allowing 11 hits and 10 runs in nine innings.

Manager Trey Hillman said Meche will play catch Thursday, March 25. SPs Kyle Davies, Bryan Bullington, Edgar Osuna, Brad Thompson, Bruce Chen, Robinson Tejeda and Kyle Farnsworth are all candidates to replace Meche in the rotation if he is not ready for the start of the season.
