Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 6, and is listed as probable for Week 14.
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Tate will be able to play Week 14 and should be considered a flex option for most fantasy teams.
Thu, 05 Dec 2013 17:25:47 -0800
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate (hip) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.
Wed, 04 Dec 2013 17:49:31 -0800

Wed, 27 Nov 2013 09:28:12 -0800
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate called suspended CBs Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond "selfish" after being suspended by the NFL for substance-abuse violations. "Everyone should realize where this team is," Tate said in a radio interview Tuesday, Nov. 26. "You are affecting way more than yourself. I feel like that was kind of a selfish move on both those guys part. But it is what it is. The show must go on and that's what we're gonna do."
Sun, 10 Nov 2013 23:41:00 -0800
In the absence of Seattle Seahawks WRs Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin, a trio of receivers combined for a stellar day against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Nov. 10. WR's Golden Tate, Jermaine Kearse and Doug Baldwin combined for 14 catches, 257 yards and two touchdowns.
Thu, 31 Oct 2013 11:03:55 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (hip) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 30, and remains day-to-day as for when the team will activate him from the Physically Unable to Perform list. "We want to make sure we don't go too far too fast," head coach Pete Carroll said. "We're looking for the long haul in his recovery. We want to make sure we manage our way through that. We're being very careful. He didn't do a whole lot last week. He did very little. It seems like it's best to keep him in that mode a little longer."
Fantasy Tip: As we've noted countless times, the Seahawks are being ultra-cautious with their most dynamic offensive weapon. They are in the position not to rush him back, either, facing the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend. Until he returns, expect Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin to receive more targets. Jermaine Kearse is an option in much deeper leagues.
Wed, 30 Oct 2013 14:09:16 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate was fined an undisclosed amount for taunting in his Week 8 game.
Tue, 29 Oct 2013 14:36:14 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Sidney Rice (knee) has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: This hasn't been confirmed yet, but if it's true, you can drop Rice in all formats. In the short term, Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin will see more looks until Percy Harvin (hip) is back in game action, which could be soon.
Tue, 29 Oct 2013 09:11:04 -0700
The Seattle Seahawks' patchwork offensive line allowed QB Russell Wilson to be sacked seven times in the team's 14-9 win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 8 Monday, Oct. 28. The run blocking wasn't much better in the victory. "We had a million problems in protection," head coach Pete Carroll said. "The Rams rushed like crazy and we did a ton of stuff to try to offset it, but nothing helped us." Seattle only had 135 yards of total offensive in the contest, with 80 of them coming on a passing touchdown to WR Golden Tate.
Fantasy Tip: It'll be at least a couple of weeks before Seattle gets Russell Okung and Breno Giacomini back, so it might be a continuous struggle to protect Wilson until then. This trend also isn't good for Marshawn Lynch.

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse will be Seattle's kickoff returner while WR Golden Tate will get first crack at returning punts.
Fri, 02 Aug 2013 05:15:00 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate has been the most impressive player in training camp showing big-play ability.
Fantasy Tip: He could make a nice addition to your fantasy team as a WR3 or WR4. He's in a contract year and had a career 45-688-7 season last year. One has to question whether there are enough options around him to keep defenses honest, though.
Thu, 01 Aug 2013 10:17:53 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (hip) is set to have surgery Thursday, Aug. 1, in New York. The team will have a better timetable for his recovery after surgery and doctors are able to determine the extent of the damage. Head coach Pete Carroll believes Harvin will be back and will contribute this season. The injury could mean a bigger role for WR Golden Tate, and he could end up being a kickoff return option. RB Christine Michael could also be asked to return kicks in Harvin's absence.
Sun, 28 Jul 2013 19:54:40 -0700
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said WR Golden Tate is in pretty much every package the team runs, and they will use him not just deep, but in the shallow, tempo-based passing game, across the middle. "We're using him in everything," Carroll said.
Fantasy Tip: Tate has shown glimpses of brilliance in his first three years, but not quite the consistency of an upper-echelon receiver. In fact, his biggest claim to fame might be as the receiver on the end of the controversial replacement referee blown call on Monday Night Football in Week 3 last season. There has been a buzz about Tate in camp early on, and he could be a guy that explodes for fantasy owners in 2013, filling the void if Percy Harvin (hip) is sidelined.
Sat, 27 Jul 2013 18:17:09 -0700
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the competition for the kick returner job is wide open at this point. WR Golden Tate, WR Bryan Walters, WR Justin Veltung, WR Arceto Clark, CB Will Blackmon and CB Jeremy Lane all received reps as returners during practice Saturday, July 27.
Thu, 25 Jul 2013 12:48:17 -0700
Updating previous reports, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said there is a possibility that WR Percy Harvin (hip) may need surgery on his injured hip. He is scheduled to get a second opinion on the injury.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin's status for start of the season is now in jeopardy with the possibility of surgery. Owners should drop Harvin significantly if he does need surgery and should not consider using a high pick on him regardless of if he needs surgery because of his injury history. Golden Tate, Sidney Rice and Doug Baldwin could see more targets if Harvin does need surgery.
Tue, 23 Jul 2013 08:59:28 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are expected to be the top four wide receivers. Unless an injury or two occurs, that leaves WRs Phil Bates, Arceto Clark, Chris Harper, Greg Herd Jermaine Kearse, Brett Swain, Justin Veltung, Bryan Walters and Stephen Williams to battle it out for the fifth, and perhaps sixth, receiver job(s). The team kept five receivers last season, but could elect to keep six. Walters reportedly had a strong offseason working in the slot.
Thu, 04 Jul 2013 21:38:39 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate said he believes the Seahawks can be a very good team for a long period of time. "I think we have a chance to be really, really special, and special for a long time," Tate said. "If we can just stay healthy and not let (it) go to our heads ... I'm sure [head coach Pete Carroll] will not let that happen. ... I think the last few years, teams kind of thought, 'Seattle, we're going to walk all over them,' but not anymore."
Thu, 04 Jul 2013 12:41:31 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate is not concerned about his contract and it won't affect how he goes about his business in 2013. Tate wants to stay with the Seahawks long term. "For me, I'm not treating it any different than any other year," Tate said. "I'm gonna show up to work, work hard. I'm not worried about any contract talk. I'm just gonna pray on it and hopefully it works out and I'm in Seattle for a long time."

Wed, 26 Jun 2013 19:16:42 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin reportedly was a standout during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. He and rookie WR Chris Harper were impressive, but they are still behind WRs Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate as far as the pecking order is concerned.
Wed, 26 Jun 2013 19:15:52 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate is playing on the last year of his rookie contract. He was second on the team with 45 receptions in 2012, but the team has since added WR Percy Harvin.
Fantasy Tip: Tate should be playing with a little extra incentive in a contract year, but when he was the second receiving option last season, he still saw just 68 targets. As long as Harvin and WR Sidney Rice are healthy, Tate's fantasy ceiling is rather limited.
Thu, 06 Jun 2013 12:23:02 -0700
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said CB Walter Thurmond will receive the opportunity to compete with CB Antoine Winfield for the nickel back job during training camp. Carroll said Thurmond will also compete with WR Golden Tate for the punt returner job.

Sun, 02 Dec 2012 17:30:13 -0800
Seattle Seahawks WR Sidney Rice (head) was shaken up on the final play of the Week 13 game against the Chicago Bears, his 13-yard touchdown reception in overtime. Bears SS Major Wright crushed him at the goal line, jarring the ball loose after breaking the plane. Rice remained down for several moments, but was able to walk to the sideline with teammate WR Golden Tate under his own power. He was answering questions after the game, so it appears a concussion has been averted.
Sun, 11 Nov 2012 20:54:06 -0800
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate had two receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 game against the New York Jets, and he also threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to fellow WR Sidney Rice. "His throwing motion was the worst. I thought we traded for (New York Jets QB Tim Tebow) for a second," Rice said.
Sun, 04 Nov 2012 19:47:59 -0800
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate had four catches for 28 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 9 win against the Minnesota Vikings. He also ran twice for 21 yards.
Fantasy Tip: It was Tate's second multi-TD game of the season, and some Green Bay Packers fans would say it is his first legitimate one. Tate was on the receiving end of that controversial Hail Mary TD at the end of Week 3 which led to the end of the replacement ref era.
Tue, 30 Oct 2012 10:08:34 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Braylon Edwards (knee) is unlikely to return to practice until later this week, and his availability for Week 9 is in question. However, his knee swelling isn't believed to be an issue that could cause him to miss the rest of the season. Edwards was expected to split duties with WR Golden Tate before he was scratched in Week 8. "The initial look at it is that he doesn't have any damage to his knee," head coach Pete Carroll said. "He has a knee that's worn on and so it responded for whatever reason to this trip or something, and we'll see what that means."

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was plagued by several dropped passes, some at critical moments, in the team's Week 7 loss against the San Francisco 49ers Thursday, Oct. 18. WR Golden Tate had a pair of drops, including one which would have extended a Seattle drive on a third and short.

"The evidence shows on the film. But I never had intentions on cheating. I wasn't trying to cheat. I was competing, it was in the moment," Tate said. "Things are happening so quick. I honestly didn't even notice I did. I didn't try to hurt him or push him down to the ground, but it happened. It was just a reaction kind of thing ..."
Wed, 26 Sep 2012 19:02:01 -0700
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is very happy with the progress of WR Golden Tate, and he explained Wednesday, Sept. 26, how the process has gone. "First off, it's been a few years to get him to this point. It's taken us a while," Carroll said. "I've loved his talent and playmaking ability. It's just taken us to year three, but we totally are counting on him. We expect him to be a factor in every game. We want the ball to go his way as much as we can."
Tue, 25 Sep 2012 10:02:04 -0700

The NFL admitted that there was an officiating error on the final play of the game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks Monday, Sept. 24, but the outcome of the game will stand. The error that the NFL says was missed was Seahawks WR Golden Tate's pushoff of Packers CB Sam Shields in the end zone during the final play, not the game-winning touchdown catch.
Mon, 24 Sep 2012 21:28:24 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate hauled in a 41-yard touchdown reception in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers to open the scoring Monday, Sept. 24. However, the score that everyone will be talking about came with no time remaining in regulation, as Tate was credited with a 24-yard touchdown after it appeared Packers FS M.D. Jennings came down with control of an interception. The play was reviewed, and Tate was given his second touchdown of the evening.
