DeFrancesco was managing Triple-A Oklahoma City. General manager Jeff Luhnow will spend the next few weeks searching for a full-time replacement. Houston already has four or five names in mind, and they're hoping to have a new candidate in place by Nov. 1. Minor league hitting coordinator Ty Van Burkleo was named as the interim hitting coach and Dan Radison will be the interim first base coach.

Bullpen coach Jim Lett, bench coach John McLaren and first-base coach Dan Radison will return for a second season, with third-base coach Pat Listach and hitting coach Rick Eckstein returning for a third season. Pitching coach Steve McCatty, who joined the staff in June 2009, is coming back for his second full season. It was announced that manager Jim Riggleman would return for a second full year last month.
Fri, 20 Nov 2009 11:45:13 -0800 Dave Sheinin, of The Washington Post, reports the Washington Nationals hired Jim Lett and Dan Radison to their coaching staff Friday, Nov. 20. Lett will serve as the bullpen coach and Radison will be the team's first-base coach next year.
