Atlanta Braves RP Jonny Venters (elbow) is not being counted on to return to the team's bullpen in 2014, according to manager Fredi Gonzalez. Gonzalez noted he is hopeful Venters will return this season, but that Venters' health is the No. 1 priority.

Atlanta Braves RP Jonny Venters (elbow) was able to throw from 120 feet Saturday, July 26, and is on track to throw a bullpen session at some point next week. There is no timetable for his return at this time.

Atlanta Braves RP Jonny Venters (elbow) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his left elbow after being examined by Dr. James Andrews and undergoing an MRI exam. Andrews told Venters that his elbow is structurally sound, but now he'll need an extra three to five weeks of rest before he can throw again. Venters is trying to come back from his second Tommy John surgery.

Atlanta Braves RP Jonny Venters (elbow) has resumed light throwing after more soreness in his surgically repaired left elbow. He made around 25 throws Tuesday, June 3, and some more Wednesday, June 4, after being shut down for 10 days. Venters has undergone Tommy John surgery on his left elbow twice. He has been pain-free in his last two sessions.

Atlanta Braves RP Jonny Venters (elbow) threw batting practice Wednesday, May 14, and the session was cut short after he reported soreness in his left elbow. "It was just a little sore, so they shut him down and didn't continue," said manager Fredi Gonzalez. "They didn't seem concerned, they made it sound like it was part of the process – first time he's faced hitters and that kind of stuff."
