Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura has used RP Brian Omogrosso in tight game situations since being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. "It magnifies every pitch that much more that you have to be that much more perfect," Omogrosso said. "But I told them that if they want me to be the bullpen catcher, I'll be the bullpen catcher. I'll be the long relief guy. I'll do whatever they need me to do."

The Chicago White Sox placed RP Brian Bruney (hip) on the 15-day disabled list with left hip inflammation Friday, June 29, and recalled P Brian Omogrosso from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Omogrosso had a 4.09 ERA in 21 outings with Charlotte this year.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
